Water pumps and hoses when do you replace them?

I don’t think it’s a bad idea, add a thermostat to your cart as well. I like slippery slopes for some reason so I’d likely do the radiator if planning on keeping truck into the 200k+.

    Chinese Hydronic Heater Troubleshooting Resources?

From what I know of geothermal loops you need a velocity of ~2fps or more to remove air bubbles from the system, I imagine this is similar. In hvac we achieve this by using a flush cart with powerful pumps. Sounds like a closed system do you have a way of bleeding the entrained air once you get...

    Diesel heater fan only

I found out on my Chinese heater if the temperature sensor on the combustion chamber fails in a way that causes high resistance the fan will not shut off, and it will not fire off. Maybe a person could wire a switch and resistor into that circuit for your purposes.

Keeping equipment alive in the garage

I have a 6 amp marine on board charger in my van. Works great for my needs. Solar controller throws code for over voltage if I use the charger while also making solar.

    Go Toyota - $10K Truck

Just exploring possibilities, I have a kei truck and f150 that don’t touch the road. 10k for that truck sounds better than 22k for a new daihatsu hijet that also isn’t road legal.

    Go Toyota - $10K Truck

I imagine it wouldn’t be possible to import one from Mexico for off-road use? People are spending 10k+ for Kei trucks that were built pre y2k. Another thought I had is maybe this will keep some of the older toy pickups in the US from being sent south, although 10k gets you 3-4 decent 80s/90s...

    03 E-350 2wd balljoints, questions.

I put moog ball joints in my e250 at 50k miles, the oem joints were getting quite sloppy and you could visually see the camber change. Lots of corrugated gravel, railroad crossings and just plain rough roads in that 50k, the van is at 85k now with no appreciable wear in the joints but it's been...

5/16 synthetic winch line on 9500# winch.

Curious if anyone has experience with running a 5/16" rope on a 9500# winch or similar. The ropes I've been looking at have an average breaking strength around 11000#, I don't like the lack of safety factor, close to half what my current 3/8" line is rated to. Masterpull has 5/16 superline rated...

Ryobi bolt cutter made into a crimper

I figured out the hammer type works pretty well when paired with a balljoint press and impact. Now I use an Amazon or Ebay hydraulic crimper, works well if the dies are correct.

Anyone regret adding a UTE Tray and Canopy on their Truck? Longevity? Looking at Norweld Tray and canopy

Zero regrets here for swapping a factory bed to aluminum flatbed on my Tundra. Mine is a cheap semi mass produced bed so with tool boxes, fenders and mudguards I'm ~$2200 US into it, pre covid pricing. I personally can't swallow the price of a Norweld or similar bed although I understand the...

    TFL defender?

I could do without most of the off-road stuff honestly. I like the towing reviews mainly, far less cringe.

    TFL defender?

It is "their" defender though, unless Roman has outright lied about purchasing it. Does it get any more real world than hitting the trails with the oe tires? Not saying they couldn't have avoided popping them but immediately swapping to meaty a/t or m/t tires kind of messes up the reviewing...

07 Ranger (North America) front mudflap help

I just buy semi flaps and cut them to my desired shape, pretty inexpensive that way. The stock flaps on my zuki were too small. Stock on the right side. Buyers Products Polymer Semi-Truck Mud Flaps - Pair, 24in. x 30in. Black, Model Number RC30PPB

Heading to Hawaii….what to do with my ‘13 LR4 HD?

Have you thought about selling it when you leave Hawaii? I've often read that the market for cars on the islands is pretty hot under normal circumstances. Is it possible you could recoup most if not all of your associated costs by doing this and have a vehicle you know and trust to drive during...
