Riding the trails of the Bloody Basin, Arizona

Take the Bloody Basin Rd. exit off Interstate 17 a little south of Cordes Lakes. About 40 miles from Prescott.

08 fj cruiser - a-trac does what exactly?

You can with the '08. Early '06-'07 builds you cannot unless you do the Atrac hack. They changed sometime in mid'07 to allow the use of both.

    Motorcycle hitch carrier recommendations...

Another option. I have not used one but have seen one in action and looks to work well. No ramp to push the bike up and you don't load the suspension using tie downs. There are clamps that attach to the footpegs to keep the bike on the carrier. http://ultimatemxhauler.com/index.php

No meet & greet that I am aware of at this point. I assume you have a 2 meter radio so you should be able to pick up the NOAA radio on that. 162.400 is the Tucson freq. Here is the link to NOAA radio. http://www.nws.noaa.gov/nwr/

Why does "size matter" in N.America???

That photo is ALL dust particulates, hardly a accurate photo of the daily sky in Tucson.

Why does "size matter" in N.America???

Would have saved myself a lot of time if I just came to page 11 after reading the OP. Groupse7en nailed it.

    treadwright tires

Having a more aggressive tread may not help you in snow and ice. I run the BFG KM2s and they are a aggressive tread. They are garbage IMHO in snow and ice. I took a trip up the Mt. Lemmon control road last year after a good snow fall. The temps were cold enough to freeze the roads and I did not...

    pistol decision - 9mm

I have a Glock 17, nice weapon but not very comfortable in my hand. I went and shot the S&W M&P 9mm, love at first sight. It fit my hand like a glove and was very easy to shoot. The S&W comes with three different sizes for the backstrap so you can pretty much get a custom fit. I now own a S&W...

    Cabrito's 2011 FJ Cruiser - NSSE

Thanks, although I cannot claim it was my idea. I found it on another FJ forum. If anyone needs/wants the template for the bracket PM your e-mail. It is for the six circuit Blue sea fuse block but I'm sure it modified.

Looked like a good one, sorry I missed it.

    Cabrito's 2011 FJ Cruiser - NSSE

I agree, the access is kind of hard but mine is full so I really never need to get to it unless a fuse blows. Doing it over I would have run it on the passenger side to ease wiring from the dual battery but at the time I did not have the dual setup.

Need help for street legal modifications

Yes AZ is very lax, quads running around everywhere on the streets.

    Cabrito's 2011 FJ Cruiser - NSSE

No, never have kicked it. It is up fairly high as you can just see the top of the footrest in the lower left of the picture. I've had it in place for about 4 years and never an issue.

Need help for street legal modifications

I just bought a 450x and went to a third party DMV provider. I registered it as a 90% dirt, 10% street. What that did was get me a MC plate so now I can ride on the street. I also payed for the OHV sticker while I was there. There was no inspection of the bike, just signed a form saying that it...

    Cabrito's 2011 FJ Cruiser - NSSE

I use a Blue Sea 6 circuit fuse block mounted on the drivers side in the cab. There are two bolts on the left of the brake pedal with enough thread left to mount a bracket that I made. I ran the wire from the auxiliary battery with a inline fuse to the block. I also have a older Engel MT45...
