In my opinion, you don't design in a rake just so you sit level when towing. If you do, you wind up with things like poorly aimed headlights and other unintended consequences when NOT towing. If the trailer is so heavy that it is adversely affecting the rake of your vehicle you are doing...

For the cost of a boat trailer I would not put another second's thought into it. Go find another one and never look back.

Dont forget about the possibility of adding a front hitch and duplicating the concoction up front, thus balancing out the weight.

It was originally a tilt bed trailer. It is now bolted solid, but not welded. For a trailer this small is there ANY advantage to reverting back to a tilt configuration? I am not seeing it, but maybe I am missing something. I figure by the time I put decent size wheels on it the tilt function...
