Someone is going is up for great deal, I have the esentially same setup on 02 Tacoma with S/C with 195K. It has been everywhere - Alaska, Rockies trails, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canadian woodland trails. This size truck is ideal for offroading/camping. Flippac should be a classic!
That's why the Flippac is so great for bushwhacking and forest trails. Don't see $100K rigs having fun in the woods. I have replaced two torsion bars, the rear window, and finally got a rain fly that actually works. Even tho the Habitat from AT is twice the cost of my Flippac they still are...
Samualashirley,
This is a great post, so many have asked themselves the same questions. I have been researching and looking at vehicles and camping options to replace my Tacoma/Flippac. This overland build has enabled so many opportunities to experience North American travel adventures. I want...
SAW torsion bar
I think I received the first bar made by SAW. It was a little tight fit, but it was so pretty painted red and all I knew it would work. My first replacement bar from FRP looked like something from a Russian steel works (lasted about four cycles) , visually the diameter was...
ZR2
I think this will be great alternative to my 02 Tacoma with Flippac. I question only the load capacity of the ZR2 for hitting the back country with a full load of overland equipment.
flippac torsion bar
Sway-A-Way does make the bar, and I installed mine 2 months ago and it works fine. I appreciate that so many Flippac owners will be able to extend the life of this great camper. I hope someone will grab on to this concept and truly redesign and rectify some design flaws...
What a beautiful vehicle - too clean for me. I am in MN and my Tacoma build on a CA Tacoma looked like crap after 1 week - I am a driver that wants to have some dirt on the truck. Is this still available?
Long live Flippac
I am so glad to see this kind of question. I believe the Flippac will be recognized as iconic in overland lexicon. Mine is on a 1st gen but am struggling with getting something with more amnesties for future trips. But I keep looking at the big rigs and remember all the...
Installed new SAW Bar
Had some time on a beautiful fall day in the North Country and put the new bar in from Sway-A -Way. This is the second bar I've replaced so I knew what to expect. Top up in vertical with rope and supports to keep the lid arms aligned after knocking out the old/new bar from...
