Now onto the roof rack! Its done, ITS FINALLY DONE!!!:wings::wings::wings:
First time the rack has been up on the roof.
I really like how low profile the rack is, it maybe sits 3" above the roof.
Now the rack transfers the its weight through the side rails as they rest on the roof. Its very...
Have been so busy working on the truck and camping that I haven't posted. There's much to come.
Last time you saw the drawer system it only had the frame and waterproofing on it. I started on the drawers a couple of weeks ago and have it together today.
This is the idea for the finished...
The screws are the self tapping type so it drills the "proper size" hole before the threads hit the plastic. It would be best to have a bolt/nut but I dont think I can get access to put a nut on. One of the reasons the dash matt is there. I would suspect romping down a dirt road with washboard...
Hmmm.... as in the cab mount to the frame? I'll look into that. No squeeze here.
Leak is mainly from the rear passenger window. I put silicone all the way around the seal (seal to cab, nothe seal to window). I think it helped but still water coming in. Also put silicone on the 3rd brake light...

Got some more work done on the drawer system. Sealed it with water sealer and made the access panel to the front compartment. So far we really like how it has come out. still need to work on the sides and making the drawers them self. That should be soon.
Made huge progress on the custom...
Radio upgrade! The little btech did its job, but it was time to upgrade. TM-D710 went in. ONe of my friends has this radio and went on for days about how good it is. Found one for sale on a ham radio swap page and the seller was local so it was a no brainier. I felt kinda bad drilling 4 holes in...
Love the build! Also have a 2nd gen cummins that I'm currently building. Very similar to yours with just a few tweaks. FYI, I'm stealing your idea about onboard air:sombrero:
Not a whole lot has happened as far as the build goes. With the rainy weather that socal has gotten and with class (finishing up on my A.S. in Drafting and 3 machining certs) time has been limited. However, not limited enough for a trip to death valley!
Went again with the SCOTA group (new...
