Help identify this roof rack set-up, please.

I don’t know what type of roof rack, but as for getting up there, I use one of these to get to my roof box easily and from this step it’s not too hard to pull up onto the roof. Rightline Gear 100660 Original... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JMTVP9N?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    Buying my First FJ80 LandCruiser.

Oh yes, must insert obligatory picture of why I bought the expensive thing in the first place! [emoji108] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Buying my First FJ80 LandCruiser.

To be frank, I would recommend not buying it. You don’t sound like you want a project just to have a project, and a $2500 Cruiser is going to need a LOT of work and $$$$ to be a reliable work vehicle and DD. I’ve found (regrettably, several times) that it’s nearly always cheaper to buy...

    Should I make the switch?

I have no experience with either of those platforms, but expect that the 80 will need more frequent maintenance and drink more gas. Beyond that, I’d say base your decision on how much you actually need a truck bed!

Build a 100/200, do I care about adding lockers?

Good luck on your hunt! I think which you choose is all about budget. You can find a 100 in decent shape for 13-15k and less than 200k miles, but a 200 will be double that and still have 120k miles on it, at least here in Utah. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yes, that’s a good idea too! Mostly the rules are stay steady on light to moderate throttle, don’t mash it and don’t bounce on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Unless you’re doing serious rock crawling, you’ll be fine with ATRAC on an 00-up 100 or any 200, no lockers needed. Put the money into other stuff! Also check out the ih8mud forum, all of these questions have been discussed as much as you’ll want to read there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
