Ok, so i`m going to call this build finished. Took me a lot of time and even more money. But i think it was worth every single minute and penny:
Gonna start the first big tour on friday. Can`t wait for it...
Finished my anti theft stuff. Put in some rivnuts:
Boltet down some chains:
And locked:
Put in some new rear brakes:
Changed the brake fluid. Dang valves were beaten up. Needed some nice words to break loose.
Eventually got them to surrender:
Topped up the transfer case oil...
So i got the last bits for the heating system and wired it in:
Front part finished. Will leave it like that for now until i have time to make a nice panel. There will probably be some changes too:
Then i fixed the broken ski box :
And tried to prevent it from happening again...
Finished plumbing the hot water system:
Removed the oem spare tire and carrier:
Started adding a bit more security:
Yes i know it can be broken easily. But not by the guy with a screwdriver.
And got it inspected for two more years:
Started on the water heater. Removed it:
Cleaned it and put a service kit in:
Tested it:
Didn`t like it and bought a new heater:
Then i figured out a way to control it:
Bought some new connectors so i don`t have to mess with the oem wiring:
Wired it in:
Also the water pump...
Ok, so i`m finally back home:
And back working on the Sprinter. This will be the safe:
Can now put a lock on it:
And mount it to the seat base:
Needed something to hang my up chains to prevent something like this:
Some flatbar to the rescue:
Will mount to the bike...
Sorry for the late answer, have been busy skiing.
I use vacuum bags for pressing. I registered a few times at skibuilders but never got back an email from the admin so i gave it up.
Yes they are. Also the really wide ones far left. Made quite a few.
Hier die normalen Zulieferer, Stahlgruber, Wessels&Müller, Trost. Ansonsten Originalteile.
Yes it does. That’s what the guys at the skiforum named the Sprinter. They even gave me money to put it on.
Sorry for the late answer. It`s VW valve, part number: 1T0820036C You can also get it from aftermarket suppliers.
Friend of mine came up with a really awesome design that i had put on the roof rack:
I think it came out great.
Didn`t have much time for the Sprinter lately cause i built this:
Cut a hole in the roof yesterday:
And closed it :
Wired in the roof lights:
Then i started plumbing the radiant floor heating:
Did a leak test:
Finished the rear part:
Second coolant tank:
Another leak test:
6m coolant hose, 40 hose clamps and some valves later:
Took...
Not really worried. The offroad rally guys use the same system to mount their radiators on the back. But i`m going to put in some valves to seal that circuit if there is a leak.
Thanks for the replies guys. I think i`ll go with a massive chain between both front doors, tie the rear doors togehter from the inside and put an outside lock on the slider door.
Finished the coolant lines:
Anyone got a diagramm of the coolant lines? Especially the heater core and...
