Hi, I have a custom bed rack made of 1.25" round steel. It's powder coated, but I'm always dragging kayaks on and off the top.
I'm looking for suggestions on how I could armour this. I want it to look nice as well. I'm imagining something black and textured that looks similar to the plastic...
I just sold mine after using it heavily for 2 years in the Atlantic off Nova Scotia. It's a beginner kayak. Very stable but very slow. I've done 30k river trips, and played in 3m waves of Peggys Cove. It can do it all.... except it can't surf and you'd need a pile of skill to be able to roll it...
Hiya. I've got a 2017 Chev Colorado Crewcab Long bed. It currently has a tonneau cover that I want to keep on it. The tonneau cover is mounted inside the bed rails and so it does not interfere in any way with the tops of the rails or the peg holes.
For function: I am looking for something like...
Hi. I have a stock 2017 chev truck. In the summer i like to use it as a glorified stereo when I’m at the cottage. Is it safe to wire a 30w solar panel and 7amp charge controller directly to the battery so that I can power my battery a bit without having to run the truck?
Hehe, that's a LOT harder in North America :)
But yeah, I found in the forum tag lines, which I think is a fair separation. Anyways, was mostly just curious. Not anxious to start any bike-shedding over it!
Overland Trip Reports
Completed adventures and expeditions lasting more than one week...
Maybe this is in a FAQ.. "Adventure and Events Reports" / "Overland Trip Reports"
Hi,
Please forgive me if this has been covered...
I get how "Events" fit in this forum, but is the main difference between Adventure and Overland trips the duration?
Tks.
Also, the bike rack comes off with 1 bolt so most of the time its not even on teh trailer. Truth be told I hate that bike rack and everything about it. I hate it almost enough to stop taking bikes when I go places.
I don't know what it weighs, but it's not much. One ambitious person could pretty easily set it back on its end. You'd want to position your lights such that they don't fall victim to gravity and mass tho :)
Yeah, that is on the list. For now I have a plug kit in the car that will help with punctures but not so much with a sidewall blowout.
Also, this is pretty strictly a pavement only trailer. The bikes just flop around too much with bumps. Honestly I also hate the bikes being perpendicular to the...
Curious, how do you attach it to the trailer/detach it when you want to use trailer for other things? (I love the "empty box" layout versus millions of gadgets. Keeps you close to tenting.... without setting up a tent :)
When I took my trailer to the shop to have it saftey inspected they wrote "World's Tiniest Trailer" on the bill. The main bed measures about 48" x 42". I bought this a few years ago at a yard sale for $200, it had a big box around it. I didn't take good care of it and the bearing burned out on a...
