    Space Kap Plus camper conversion

I haven't had that issue at all. Do you get the same rocking while cornering driving? If you have air bags and onboard air, maybe pump them up before going to bed?

Thanks. I actually never ended up doing that part because I sold the truck in favour of a smaller gas job, but it would be installed as detailed in the specs, but with a threaded coupling in the fuel line to allow the user to disconnect the camper from the truck to remove it.

Mine, with a full 110L water tank, weighs almost exactly 1500lbs. I chose to use a 3/4 ton to haul it, but you could realistically drop this in a half ton on airbags and the truck should handle it fine. 10-ply tires might be wise though, regardless of whether youre in a 1/2 or 3/4 ton.

I’m not sure that’s mine; mine doesn’t have the side window.

Hey man, nice unit! Yours seems like a great candidate for a conversion. How deep does the exterior access go into the Kap? Mini-update. I’m in the middle of a move, so this project is on the backburner, although it is acting as my home for a few weeks. Since my last post, I have finished the reflectix-style insulation, moved forward with the cedar panelling, finished the electrical system and added the 50W solar...

...continued (see above for photos pertaining to the first few paragraphs). The bed concept was a challenge; initially I had thought of building it width-wise over the cabover section of the unit, but I eventually realized that I would be short a few inches once I accounted for insulation and...

...continued: Battery – In short, adding up the estimated draw of all my electrical appliances, (i.e, for the fridge, we’re looking at 0.66A x 24hours/day = 15.84 Amps per day for the fridge, then repeat and sum up for all appliances), I came to the conclusion that I would be using between 20...

    Space Kap Plus camper conversion

This is my first post on EP, so please feel free to share any advice if I've missed/misfiled anything. Background: The idea to convert a SpaceKap to a camper came after being thoroughly disappointed with an Arctic Fox 990. The AF sprung a leak just a few months into owning it (I bought it used...
