Just got home from a month of Moab UT and Silverton CO. We have done all those trails and more through the years. It is our second home almost. Thanks for sharing.

    Trail/Rock Lights Install

Sorry I threw out the packaging but you will find them at WalMart. They use the same 55 watt bulbs many driving/fog lights use so I was not surprised how much light output they produced.

    Trail/Rock Lights Install

LIghts installed So how did they work? You can be the judge. These pictures were taken at night, some with time exposure so the sky appear somewhat bright. This first pic is to show you the vantage point from above so you can understand the next few pics. These pics show the light pattern...

    Trail/Rock Lights Install

I tested the lights on the workbench and left them on for an hour. There were no problems from heat and the mirror housing was only warm. I am sure if they were on a moving vehicle with a cooling breeze there would be no problems at all. So we can put the heat discussion to rest at least on...

    Trail/Rock Lights Install

I agree. In the US the Sidekick/Tracker have fixed mirrors but in the rest of the world the mirrors are foldable. I have been unable to get the foldable models yet. I haven't found anyone that is willing to ship them over here.

    Trail/Rock Lights Install

I tested the light before the installl. and they are not high quality fog/driving lights so they do a good job of flooding the light. I will post pics in the dark when I get them mounted.

    Trail/Rock Lights Install

I often find myself coming off trails after dark. I have Hella 550 Lights on the front bumper but often wished I had better vision at the side of the trail and along side of the vehicle. I came up with this idea and had time this week to try it. I have not seen anyone else doing this but...

The far too easy 'Hi-Lift Jack' stowage solution

My Hi-Lift Mount Design With the body lift and suspension lift I out grew the factory jack a long time ago. I found a new Hi-Lift jack from a former Jeep owner for $25. He had cut it down 6" to 42" so it would fit inside his Jeep. I started to look for probable mounting locations like the...

New helping finding a Waeco CF-025DC

Thanks! Here is the whole story. The fridge was listed on Ebay. I bid on it for $300 but it did not meet the reserve and was not sold. I contacted the seller after the auction. He said his reserve was $400 but would take $350. I said SOLD. What surprised me is I was the only one that had bid...

New helping finding a Waeco CF-025DC

I guess I was lucky. I just bought one of those a few weeks ago. A RV dealer had one as a floor model. I got it for $350. Many places still list that model. You might just have to do some calling around. Happy hunting.

Where to store a Hi-lift jack inside a vehicle?

Here is my solution I built brackets to store my Hi-Lift inside. This is a 48" jack. It mounts below the rear seat out wich is out of the way and still allows foot room for the rare rear seat passenger. This location keeps the jack secure, clean and handy. No tools needed to remove because of...

    Lockers vs. TruTrack

I think the most important consideration that was not even mentioned is safety. If your vehicle is going to be driven on roads by your wife or girlfriend then a selectable locker is the best choice. Even a limited slip differential can be dangerous on a wet road and even more dangerous with a...
