    Baselining a '07 Jeep Liberty w/ 150,000 miles

Definitely going to flush the coolant right away. Just got a quote for $680 to do both diffs, t-case, trans, coolant, engine, and brake fluid drains and fills.

    Baselining a '07 Jeep Liberty w/ 150,000 miles

Thanks for the info. This Liberty has had a few new window regulators. In your experience is the heater core inevitable with Liberty's or may I have a chance of running this for awhile before it's needed?

    Baselining a '07 Jeep Liberty w/ 150,000 miles

Good one.... Since I have no workspace for the fluid service, how much should I expect to pay (ball park) for a transmission, front and rear diff, t-case, coolant, and brake fluid drain and fill?

    Baselining a '07 Jeep Liberty w/ 150,000 miles

Hi all, I'm a grad student living in Montana and had been looking for an LC or similar to get me to the trailhead in winter (and summer road trips) for quite awhile but have recently been offered my Brother-in-law's '07 Liberty w/ 150,000 for effectively $0 dollars, which is very nice of him...

Perhaps I should pony up for a lower-mileage 100 series.

    Seeking Advice/thoughts on a '91 FJ80 For Sale

Thanks for all your comments, truly. The cruiser would not be a daily driver (I walk/bike), but likely a trailhead/summer road trip vehicle. My concerns aren't so much with the additional and costly baselining, but the catastrophic engine/transmission failure happening before, say, 300,000...

Thanks for your reply. Is this mostly because of deferred maintenance? Would your decision change if Tor gave it a look over?

Options for round the country trip.

Considering your budget, I think going the truck w/ camper route likely makes the most sense. Truck wise, I'd consider gas. The pre-ULSD 7.3/5.9 market is borderline insane, and the 10k premium over their gas counterparts doesn't make sense economically unless you plan on driving/towing a lot...

    Looking for suggestions

I'll echo previous sentiment and say that it would be a good idea to trade into a 3500 dually. Doing so opens you up to more spacious campers. Resale value for pre '06 cummins' is great right now and I think you'd be surprised on what you could get truck wise, especially if you were willing to...
