The racks seem tenuous. I'd be worried about putting a tent on it and using the gas struts. Anyone have any experience withthat kind of setup? I'm a newbice.

If you contact them they're super military friendly. I bought my tent from them a few months back and can't say enough good things about them as a company, and their products.
