5 Things (or more) you would change after traveling in your truck?

Iain_U1250 - linked to your awning mods, I think your window cover solution was superb and should be on your list, light weight and easy to install, much easier than replacing scratched windows down track, or worse breaking one in the field.

    Total Composites full introduction!

What a shame, this is one of the few threads that I watch, and thought you had approached the issues with complete transparency.

New Zealand - Go Orange auction 6 x 5023 Buses

Yeah I wouldn't have thought the coachwork would work for a proper camper, but it might be a cheap way to get the chassis! And as others have stated, Go Orange is haemorrhaging money with the borders shut to their main market of international tourism.

New Zealand - Go Orange auction 6 x 5023 Buses

For those in New Zealand, and looking for a Unimog chassis, Go Orange are selling their 5023 based buses...

Unimogadventures - Our build and travel thread

Wow that looks great! The vortex generators confused me for a bit as I thought they were part of the attachment system for the walls!

Pretty Ugly... 1835, The Build Begins

No of passengers possibly? Seatbelts would normally need to go through that process I thought? Cant recall if you were having the ability to carry passengers in the rear. It is something we have found handy in Dad's motorhome. We had a 6 berth, seldom used it more than 2 up as a motorhome, but...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Truck is really starting to look good! Fireball tools - now I am a very amateur welder but I find them fantastic, the tabs allow you to hold tube stock square in a couple of axis! Spendy especially with shipping down in our hemisphere, but starting out teaching myself TIG welding is so much...

    CAD help

A lot of Autocad product is free if you are a student, or have a university email. I use Inventor and whilst I haven't been at Uni full time in many years, the odd paper here and there has allowed me to keep up to date software!

Pretty Ugly... 1835, The Build Begins

I love the big pictures, and great to see some progress. You can insert just a thumbnail into the post that would assist those not on broadband.

A long term project - Planning Begins

I think I made some fundamental errors in the model of the truck , so I think more likely to be at 3.8ish..... I haven't yet started the search for panels. I have seen one camper made from a roofing product with steel/foam/steel in Auckland, and there is Clark Global...

    Norwegian Unimog U1700L camper build

A great build and a shame your first proper trip has had to be postponed! How tall is the box itself ? Just starting the planning phase for my own build so you may get a few questions! (Though I am now off to your website to trawl through there for answers first)

A long term project - Planning Begins

That's a decent idea, could even just throw a roof top tent on initially. However the concerns around height made me think I have mucked up somewhere...... so I compared my model against a couple of commercial outfits, and I clearly have my wheels positioned incorrectly in the quick mock up I...

    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Looks good! Could you use some RHS for an uptake each side like you did with the modified exhaust? That way they could sit closer to the cab and act in a dual role as protection and intake ? (Pipe would be easier and could be curved )

A long term project - Planning Begins

A single spare will be mounted on top of the cab in front of the camper section. As this is intended for NZ mainly a single spare is sufficient in my mind as often wont be far from assistance. Yes, whole box insulated, I have seen the moisture problems on other cab overs and have seen a few...
