First-Aid situations you've encountered in the backcountry

most of the issues ive dealt with where in the Marines. 8 cases of Heat exhaustion, 1 heat stroke, 2 cases of HAPE. and was the first to act on a Negligent discharge into another's right arm. surprisingly no hypothermia or frost bite from the artic or winter training. we where short Corpsman so...

Small full-featured hard-sided stock trailers modified for slow off-pavement trips: surprisingly rare

sure its 30k but look at its competition... 15-25k cheaply built stuff and the 40-80k niche (black series) or luxury trailers. i think ORV has a good balance of offroad capability, build quality, price, ect. yeah, single axle would end up with a ton of tongue weight. how high is your...

Small full-featured hard-sided stock trailers modified for slow off-pavement trips: surprisingly rare

they have shorter ones... just not bunks. i actually dont see many RVs/TTs/ect in storage around here. i think thats more of a west coast thing. the vast majority are in peoples driveways year round. right now i could park a 30ft trailer my 22ft long truck and my wifes cherokee in the single...

Small full-featured hard-sided stock trailers modified for slow off-pavement trips: surprisingly rare

Im looking at the Creekside 21DBS. im not too concerned with the weight driving ¾ton diesel and planning on it being more of a base camp. height/length/width are their own problems i already cant do some trails with my Crewcab longbed lol. an under 20ft bunkhouse id be all over. it doesnt look...

    Animal strikes and brush bars

i live in deer country... thankfully haven't hit a deer with my Ram but i hit alot with locomotives. and I know its a matter of time with all my back country driving. had a 2017 Silverado take a deer through the radiator right in front me on tbe interstate last year. im looking at IronBull's...

    4 season off-road trailer

Small full-featured hard-sided stock trailers modified for slow off-pavement trips: surprisingly rare

I've been doing a ton more research since my last comment and basically sold myself on an Outdoors RV. they are better built, with much sturdier materials, better suspension, 4 season ready (huge bonus), and much larger tanks. and the ultimate selling point, the wife likes it... unfortunately...

    Trailer tongue weight distribution

i dont have anything to offer that hasnt already been said on the tongue weight discussion. but when im towing i usually just find a semi and scoot in behind them if im on a highway/interstate. gladly take a small mpg increase from a semi draft, and who cuts off a guy just to get right behind a...

Best ground tent under $500 for 2 kids and 2 adults

Ive been using this Cabela's Alaskan Guide 4man tent for 3 or 4 years now. The 6 man is about $450. Full rainfly, roomy, fairly tall for it's size. Found a raving review/YouTube video of a couple of guys on a hunting trip in Alaska getting dumped on in high winds sold me on it. I've had it up...

    Whats your hunting Rig setup

It's not really any different for me. I just bring my big cooler and a bit more dry ice. The only thing I could see potential in doing is putting a bed hoist on my truck to bleed out a deer if I'm not breaking it down in the field.

What do you use for a truck gun?

I'm still using that Chinese Mosin as my normal Truck gun but added a Mossberg 500 12ga for trips. Finally broke down and said 115years is long enough and retired the old side-by-side. Who knows how many deer that old girl has taken. She'll just have to look good in my collection now.

The Official Bacon Thread. (Got your attention?)

I get smoked bacon in 10lb boxes from our local butcher shop. Costs a bit more than the store bought stuff but so good. Local meat always tastes better ?

Research/ Experience &Concern about Trailer Manufacturer Response

The biggest problem for me, is that every nice off-road trailer is loaded up with "luxury" bull?. I don't need or want fine leather, I don't even want a TV or wifi. I don't need or want all the extra trimmings. I want a basic, capable travel trailer, with a decent pricetag. And having a young...

Small full-featured hard-sided stock trailers modified for slow off-pavement trips: surprisingly rare

I'm kinda looking for the same thing. Staying a bit limited on pricetag. Things like a black series are out of the question. And on top of that we are limiting it to a "bunkhouse" style thanks to a young/potentially growing family. But I really don't have to worry about weight considering my tow...
