Water System
I started off building an elaborate water system; plumbing all the jugs together with a foot pump and a faucet. The foot pump is self priming but I had too much air volume in the system for it to actually prime. So, I decided to do something much simpler and in the end I'm more...
Cooler tracks
We really like the massive cooler. When I got it, I thought it was a real overkill. But, packing is so much easier. Just grab stuff from the fridge and throw it in then add a couple blocks of ice or frozen 1 gallon jugs of water. So easy. The only problem has been sliding it...
Kitchen Shelf and Counter
I added the brackets to put a shelf over the stove with that idea that I might build cabinets over the stove. Plus, there are slides with a pull out counter.
Excellent. I'm glad it worked. I'd contact the NC state parks either through their website or a local office and see if they're interested in the maps. I think that's where they would reach the most people looking for NC maps. Plus, I try to support the local park offices as much as I can.
Good catch. I think GDAL must have had an update that changed that. I think it used use try to figure out the output type from the file extension. Now you have to specify it explicitly with the -of. I tried to do a map last week with a new version GDAL and my script wasn't working. I had to...

Progress has been slow, lots of distractions. Spent several days in the Maze region of Canyon Lands. I didn't bring the family so I didn't bring the trailer. There were a few spots along the road from Teapot to the Dollhouse that I would have probably struggled a bit if I would have brought...
Progress has been slow. Now that its usable, its tough to put the time into it that I did when I was building it.
That said, I'll probably finish (minus painting) the stove arm and 'firewall' mounts for the water cans this weekend. I'll post pics hopefully by the end of the weekend.
Thanks...
Water System
I had originally thought that I'd get an RV water tank, maybe a custom one to fit exactly what I needed. During our Yellowstone trip, I realized that I want to maintain the flexibility to remove the tanks to refill if needed. I ended up deciding on using 3, 20L Sceptor Military...
Stove Pivot Arm
We have a Camp Chef, Big Gas Grill which is a 3 burner stove that you can put a 2 burner griddle or a 2 burner grill on. It's awesome. But, its a bit big and can be a pain to setup and tear down. My original plan for this trailer was to have a slide or a pivot arm to put it...
Update
I thought I'd provide a little feedback about how things have been working so far and what I'm planning next.
First, there isn't anything that I've thought, "I should have done that different". Some of that was planning, some of it was luck. I remember reading a thread that someone...
First Outing
Took her out on her maiden voyage to the Pecos Wilderness, part of the Santa Fe National Forest. While I was building this trailer, I kept thinking 'Wow, this thing is big'. As I started packing it was amazing to see how small it got. :) But, it was much easier to pack than the...
DONE! (... for now)
My trailer is done, for now. It's usable and we're ready to hit the trail. I have plans for building out a kitchen in the rear tailgate, a sliding cooler rack in the front, and water tanks. But that will happen this winter. It's time to hit the trails.
Assembly went...
Sheet Metal
It seemed to take a long time until we finally got some warm weather. It snowed 2 weeks ago and I need 70 degrees for this adhesive tape to work. In the mean time I did some test pieces with this tape. I learned that temperature was critical. The one's I did at 65 deg. I was...
