Best Winter tire for LT on 15" Rims : edited with suggestions

You don't say what size you want, but I'd recommend the Hankook ATM RF10. These tires a freakin amazing in the snow and ice on road. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findTireDetail.do?tc=HANVL2&c=1&rcz=98501&pc=10859&ar=1050&rf=true&cf=false&rd=15&sw=false&rc=WASINT&cs=31

Are your expedition/overland vehicles auto, or stick?

As soon as the 22re on my rig shats the bed, it's getting replaced with a 3.4/A340 and the duals are getting the full chromoly treatment. I'll also go with some RADesigns controls for the auto and one of his triple sticks. I've found that one can never have too low of a gear option.

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

A little more background on my truck. It's an 85 XtraCab on an 83 frame with a 94 22re motor, duals w/4.7, ARB's, 5.29's, Longs, etc... I traded a pretty nicely modded 97 4Runner- For this! :coffeedrink: Then I bought this for $500 with a blown headgasket. Then we did this. Now I can...

    Leaking CV boot fix

The hot degreaser or high pressure wash at the self-serve carwash will take care of that grease problem, they also take care of oil you drop all over your skid plates! :victory:

    Aftermarket CV Axle Shafts

Jack truck up, remove tire, pop off dust cover with screwdriver, have someone else stand on the brakes and use your 35mm socket to remove the nut, undo the 4 14mm (??) bolts on the bottom of the ball joint and push out of way, pry axle out of diff with crowbar. Reverse and add locktight to ball...

    Aftermarket CV Axle Shafts

:xxrotflma X4 on OEM, junkyards should have good ones for $40 a piece. :xxrotflma I'm super slow at changing them and it takes me less than 45 minutes. I've got friends that can do it on the trail in less than 25 minutes. :ylsmoke:

    Dyna Beads - recent experience?

My buddy runs them on cut up 36" Swamper SX's and likes them, they're the only way he can keep his tires halfway balanced. You have to have a system in place to be able to add and remove the beads (tire mount/dismount machine, beadlocks and a shop vac with a catch basin). Also, just buy the...

    suv vs p'up ?

I've had both, one stock and one stock to not. The 4Runner never got close to the fuel mileage f the DC, even stock to stock. I like the space of the 4Runner, but for working out of the DC was superior, I could put my concrete stuff in the back and it didn't fog up the windows or get concrete...
