    Trail Tools

I'm trying to switch over to soft cases, I try to use them when I do basic maint on the truck that way I know what all is needed for certain tasks. Spending more time looking for tools. Never thought of an old laptop case. What do you think it weights full of tools? That's the other thing, I...

Rear power; 2nd battery or long cables?

Ducky's Dad, Trail damage is a concern of mine as well. I looked under my truck and couldn't see how a "U" would work. I see now it probably wont. Ill definitely borrow some ideas. Thanks again Korben, Like from the Fifth Element? :) I however don't have a front winch yet. It is planned as...

Rear power; 2nd battery or long cables?

Thank you for the pics. So since they "hang" the top mounts must be U shaped, that go over the frame?

Rear power; 2nd battery or long cables?

Any pics of the frame mounted battery box? Not sure it would fit there on the passenger side. Thinking exhaust. Does it mount inside or outside frame rails?

Rear power; 2nd battery or long cables?

I wasn't expecting this much of a response but bring it on. I do need to go through and reread some posts. As for my truck, It has a 3K winch mounted on the flatbed. Now I just bring a battery and run the winch to pull a car onto my trailer. I will be mounting a rear recovery winch under the...

Rear power; 2nd battery or long cables?

My truck is a diesel so it already has 2 batteries and a decent charging system. I could mount the second battery and run heavier shorter winch power cables yet run something like a 4 or 2ga wire to the main battery through a solenoid that is only in with ignition.

Rear power; 2nd battery or long cables?

That is sounding like a positive for a second battery. Only thing is its a diesel and it already has dual batteries. Now it will have 3. Ugh

Rear power; 2nd battery or long cables?

I am installing a rear winch and debating on getting power to it. Would it be better to run long power cables or just add a rear battery and run a 10ga charging cable to the rear battery that is also only connected while the ignition is on. I have a flatbed on a 05 dodge ram. Plenty of room...

    Project Wander Wagon

Noticed on the bumper that it looks like the shackle mounts swivel? ARB or did you put those on. Nice truck. I dont have a newer dodge, just my 01 and my new project, a 85 Crew cab.

85 Dodge. Chase truck, just without the chase

Not much to update. Well did a lot of planning. Got some plans of attack setup. Going to tie the rear bumper into the rear box mount and hitch all in one. The old bumper as posted above is a good step but I don't need that big a step. Thinking cutting that off and using a "[" channel for the...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

That much wider? That should be perfect. The utility box on mine is from a dually so the extra width should help fill it up nicely. I now see the tape stacking. Thanks again. That will help.

Thanks! It is certainly going to be an odd project for me.

85 Dodge. Chase truck, just without the chase

nice trucks for sure. I started thinking about trying to get another bed but decided that I am going to use 2nd gen rear springs. The front of the spring is about4.5" longer then the 1st gen springs. Then add in some zero rates and the rear axle will be moved back approx the right amount. Also...

    Project: Doitall Dodge

Nice build just finished reading the whole thread. Couple questions, Do you happen to know how wide a 2nd gen ram D70 srw is? I have the old one out of my ram and want to swap it into my D350. (link in sig) Reason is the seperate brakes drums, factory trac loc, and hopefully wider enough to help...
