    So much for legendary reliability

Some shops who flush transmissions just filter the old fluid and put it back. They don't even change the filter. The filter change is the most important, plus a magnet in the pan to catch any chips. Then a decent quality fluid.

More proof that Jeep is the leader in 4x4 overland vehicles

:xxrotflma Actually a lot of vehicles are suffering from rust. Many companies are installing insulation around the cab. It picks up moisture that never dries out. That moisture runs down and eats from the inside out. Although I like Icons vehicles I prefer ones from Legacy...

More proof that Jeep is the leader in 4x4 overland vehicles

Modernize most old style vehicles and you have a good machine. I am reworking a 57 CJ5 and there will be a lot of changes. Not rock crawling ones cause that isn't my thing.

    Ducati Scrambler: Adventure Redefined

I am impressed with the lower seat height on this bike than most of it's kind out there.

More proof that Jeep is the leader in 4x4 overland vehicles

i have 3 old Jeeps currently, I've had 3 or 4 modern ones. Frankly I wouldn't state what is best as that depends on everyone's personal preference. If it is off road capable then you can go off road. Heck a 2wd will get you more places than you think. I really think if you like going off road or...

    Suzuki samurai, zuki people help!

No problem. I skipped it and went to a starter button but when I started driving there were still old cars and trucks sold with a starter button. I figured with the top off it would hard for someone to steal it. I will put one on my next Jeep, but it will be a floor button. Still this is not...

It is more than just a starter problem. Check out the relay upgrade. http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index.php/suzuki-samurai-clicky-starter-upgrade-kit.html

    Sandals

These leather sandals work well without the funk smell of synthetics. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0049HIO5I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2FH0531MUB8QB&coliid=I3TFCTB5JA7BPH&psc=1

    F150 Flatbed Overlander Build

That is really a fine set up. Valve cover gasket shouldn't be much of an expense. Hard to imagine not having enough room for an F150. We are spoiled here with lots of space. My driveway has to hold a Bronco II, a Samurai, two Honda Accords, a CR-V, a Toyota truck and 5 motorcycles. I need to get...

    Harbor freight Honda clone generator???

One thing to keep in mind, these clones could be coming off the same line as the Honda's. Chinese companies do that fairly regular. So did the US in the old days. It might be the same as Honda except for the name and Honda warranty.

Land Cruiser 60 Series vs Newer Tacoma

I think some of the newer Toyota's might lack a bit of their old quality because of their push to out sell Ford in numbers. Just my hunch.

    Suzuki samurai, zuki people help!

I have bought from Low Range Off Road. They are an okay bunch. Two things I forgot to mention is take care off the "clicky starter problem" and the sloppy shifter problem on manual transmissions. Even if you don't have these problems, I would fix them.

    DIY Firestarters

Plain old jute twine is quick and easy. I have a fire steel and strike anywhere matches. I don't fool around with them in an emergency. I use a lighter. I Bic in my kit or a Zippo in my pocket. Don't smoke but I carry a Zippo. If it is really bad I would use a road flare to start a fire. When...

    Suzuki samurai, zuki people help!

Nice tin top. Don't feel you need to go over the top with it. This road is about what was used in the early days crossing the country in a Model T. Set it up for your comfort. I do agree on a bigger gas tank. My Samurai always seemed to need gas at an inopportune time. I put in seats out of an...

Land Cruiser 60 Series vs Newer Tacoma

Get what you like. Older vehicles are not bad if you don't have to commute far. I would definitely think about a second vehicle unless your wife is in love with driving older stuff.
