Looking for 12V LED rope lights (or other ideas) for roof tent

Vinyl tubes is a good idea - cheaper than heat shrink.

Looking for 12V LED rope lights (or other ideas) for roof tent

Hi. I am trying to design a lighting solution for my 23zero roof tent. Ideally it would follow one or more of the hoop bars and shine in all directions for general illumination, rather than pointed at a specific task, and also ideally it would remain in place when the tent is folded up. I will...

    DIY Propane Firepit

Props to @java for a great idea. I made one very similar to your original and it works great.

Propane quick disconnect and 20Lb tank

Be careful with high pressure vs low pressure. The devices designed for 1lb disposable cylinders each have their own regulator so you can put high pressure straight from your 1lb cylinder, or from a 20lb cylinder via the quick connect in the post above, but you need to make sure the hose you use...

Looking for hard shell tent that opens and overhangs to left (US driver's) side

Wow. I am learning that there are several people over on the Off Grid Trailers Facebook page that have mounted iKamper Skycamps reversed and none report having had any problems, so that might be my best plan.

Looking for hard shell tent that opens and overhangs to left (US driver's) side

Thank you but again I want to emphasize the point that I need the tent to overhang. The ladder will not be able to attach to fixing points flush with the side of the roof rack, due to the protruding box on the side of the trailer (and the "want" for an annex room also pretty much precludes tents...

Looking for hard shell tent that opens and overhangs to left (US driver's) side

You are right, I hadn't seen that one. The Odyssey series page even has photos showing it in either orientation, but it doesn't fold out to overhang the side of the trailer so I'd probably still have the same ladder interference problem.

Looking for hard shell tent that opens and overhangs to left (US driver's) side

Situation: planning to buy an Off Grid Expedition 2.0 and will have a 270 degree awning on the right covering the galley and the rear. The left side has a box containing the water heater and optional furnace that look like they will interfere with the ladder on a pop up box or wedge shaped tent...

    Overland Expo East comments?

I was there just for the day on Saturday, my first time. I wanted to look at offroad trailers so I had a pretty good experience. I was able to see Patriot, Off Grid, Boreas, Mission Overland, Escapod, Escapade, Hiker, Kimberley, Overkill, Taxa, Xpedition and maybe a couple of others. I did not...

Thanks Daisy, very helpful to get some real data. Your setup is close enough to what I would do, that it’s clear I would need to change my towing vehicle if I settled on the Summit. This discussion has been valuable.

**SOLD** 2020 Overkill Camper with Slide-Out For Sale in Bend, Oregon

The bike rack is amazing. Was that custom built? I don't see anything like it on Owl Vans website.

I didn't mean to be secretive. It's a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica with factory tow package, so it's actually 360/3600 rather than 350/3500. Front wheel drive, which I guess is pretty pertinent. Just for full disclosure my plan was an on-road road trip out west for a few weeks next summer for our...

Right now, I have an on-road vehicle rated 350/3500. Upgrading the tow vehicle and going off road is supposed be step 2, later. I have seen those videos and read other threads. I am comfortable trying it out if the numbers are within spec minus my comfort margin, and the tongue is 10-15%. What...

Exactly what I was asking for. It seems to be common wisdom that the tongue weight should be 10% to 15% of the trailer's weight. We know that it's 10% when the trailer's unloaded, as mentioned above from one of the dealers: trailer weight 2250 lbs and again that quote "225lb plus cargo". What...

Earlier in this thread posts #503, 505, talk about bike racks. I don't know if anyone ever followed through. I'll update this post if I find anything. Still looking for any real trailer weight and tongue weight measurements.
