    is 4x4wire gone?

Still makes me sad. It was almost 25 years ago when Little Joe approached me to start the mitsu section. 25 years?! How did that happen? These days I'm usually on ih8mud and am the moderator of the mitsu section (such as it is) among others. I still have visions of the old guard coming over...

'99 Land Cruiser 90 Series diesel (Canada - JDM import)

Just rolled up 160k kms on this little commuter. This month I replaced the lower balljoints (yes, its got THOSE lower bj's), since its the achilles heel of the platform. I used OEM's. Also removed my spacer "lift" to conserve fuel, and replaced an inner CV boot. Otherwise, oil changes is all...

    ImNoSaint's Tahoe Build

Finally got myself a Steelie for the Baofeng - can't believe it escaped my attention for so long. Now looking at another for my phone. Been too cold to stick it to the dash yet, but soon. Really like the look of that all-in-one Midland too. Hmmm... I may have to un-sub from this thread...

    ImNoSaint's Tahoe Build

Wow, I need to read this whole thread again and take notes. So much good info, applicable across platforms. Could you please elaborate on the Nite-Ize "steelie" and its marriage to the handheld? This is the first time I've seen one in action. I've got a drawer full of RAM mounts, and up till...

'99 Land Cruiser 90 Series diesel (Canada - JDM import)

I do have a legit update! Imagine! New snow tires. Uniroyal tiger paw cheapies, but actual snow tires, lots of sipes, and good tread depth. And found 245-75R16s, so a little narrower than stock, but same overall height. Ideal for gearing, yet increased contact pressure. No snow here at all yet...

1997 Pajero Evolution (Old Betsy VII)

So in the interest of keeping this up to date, my signature might indicate the shocking route I took last fall... I sold my dream truck, to buy another dream truck. I'll always miss this one, but it's fun to experience more than one dream, right? Here is the ode I wrote to my Pajero Evolution...

Finally snagged an M101CDN2: (a modest build up)

Well, it's been a while, and things have made a dramatic change in my garage. I did switch the bulbs back to 24v and then got this rig out camping a bunch of times. Here's the proof... (look closely) And again here... Pulled really nicely on the road. BUT... my new tow rig isn't exactly...

'99 Land Cruiser 90 Series diesel (Canada - JDM import)

Time for the yearly checkin on the Prado 90? Now at 148k kms, zero issues to report. Have new snowtires on the garage floor, but haven't had them installed on wheels yet. Speaking of wheels, I snagged a pair of OEM 16's, and the 17's that came with the truck got transferred to my "other"...

Finally snagged an M101CDN2: (a modest build up)

Getting ready to dive into the trailer again. Need to figure out how to go back to 24 volts. Planning to get out for a night next weekend with "new" truck and trailer in tow. But I have some work to do first, on both... updates to come.

Finally snagged an M101CDN2: (a modest build up)

As shown in my signature, I decide I needed something faster than the Pajevo, so I got a 70 series. :ROFLMAO: LOL. That's funny, right. Definitely not faster. I just needed a project, and I wanted something I could bang around a bit. Ironically though, my tow vehicle is now a 24volt rig, and my...

'99 Land Cruiser 90 Series diesel (Canada - JDM import)

Very little to report on this one beyond putting miles on it. And I just switched back to snowtires. I did replace the upper balljoint boots/grease. and i have new lowers on the bench. Yes, OEMs because failure is not an option, or a cliche when it comes to lower bjs BUT... its stablemate has...

Finally snagged an M101CDN2: (a modest build up)

After a trip to Home Depot to get some slotted angle, I began some more measuring, and then cutting. (Actually I measured twice.) Here's what I came up with: By putting longer bolts in place of the originals for the exterior tie-down hooks, I was able to keep from drilling any holes to attach...

'99 Land Cruiser 90 Series diesel (Canada - JDM import)

I thought it might be fun to share the video taken of my truck in Japan before it was exported to Canada last year. The original export company was Pacific Coast Auto. I had seen this on youtube a few months before the original Canadian importer decided to sell it... once I realized that the one...
