2006 Northstar TC650 Truck Camper $7300 located in Hernando Beach, Florida

Still have the camper...I've been so busy that I haven't done anything with it. The truck has been sitting for the last 3 months as well and I don't see myself using it very much in the near future, would probably throw a package deal together. Truck is worth about $21k-$22k per NADA and the...

2006 Northstar TC650 Truck Camper $7300 located in Hernando Beach, Florida

This is a great Camper for 1/2 Ton trucks. I currently use this camper in a 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax with a 5.5ft bed and tow an enclosed trailer or boat with no problems. The camper is perfect for a couple that want to get out of tent camping without the expense of upgrading to 3/4 to 1 ton...

    Super short bed build options

I have a Northstar 6.5ft pop-up camper in my Tundra Crewmax (5.5ft bed). It works perfect and is warm and dry in cool damp climates. I'm actually in it as I type sitting in Homer,AK while it's raining and 48F outside. Sorry, I don't have any photos to post at the moment.

    Pop-up camper and fuel mileage

I just did a trip with my Tundra and camper from Fairbanks->Anchorage->Valdez->Homer and averaged 12.3 mpg at an average speed of 55 mph. I believe I have around 2,000 lbs total weight in the bed with the camper, water, and gear. Overall I'm alright with the average, of coarse a higher mpg...

    Outfitter or Hallmark?

Actually both trucks have the same size brake rotors at 13.9" each. Also the Tundra can carry the weight pretty well with 381hp/401tq and with the 6spd auto. It won't get the mileage that a diesel will get, but the engine so far is reliable and very cheap to maintain. If you start adding more...

Decision: Goodyear MTRK or BFG MTKM2

So far I like The MTR/K's I only have about 7,000 miles on them and a lot of those are on ice. If you want a MT tire you can stud, I highly recommend Firestone Destination MT. I was very happy with those tires and got 50,000 miles out of them. They are a very under rated tire IMO and I have a...

    Outfitter or Hallmark?

I would think you would still be OK. I also have a winch and Road Armor bumper on the front which adds another 250 lbs of weight that I carry around. It depends on how much gear you carry, the weight adds up quickly. I would still recommend adding E-rated tires, unfortunately it does stiffen up...
