Thanks - the bed size isn't going to work for us.
Coming from a standard queen size in the popup camper, even a standard double (full) is getting a little cramped.
I found an old Roadtrek brochure online -- PDF here:

Does your Versatile have the cross-ways bed in the back? From the old brochure, it looks like it's a double/full size bed as the standard layout, which might be a little short for us (me: 6'0"...
Thanks again for the info - maybe I missed it somewhere, but do you have the 4th seat also? (the one that goes in place of the cabinet behind the driver's seat)
Thanks for the updated info. In all likelihood, I think I'll have to pass on this. I spent a lot of time going through the pics, and searching for more info on the Roadtrek. For our use, the smaller water capacity and lack of the 4th seat (where the optional cabinet is on yours) are probably...
This is tempting...
On the fresh water tank(s) - was that a typo? Only 10 + 15 gallons? Roadtrek's page indicated a 31 gallon tank, but that was for a 170 Versatile, and different model year.
On the vehicle itself - any rust issues, particularly underneath? Has it been a southwest vehicle...
For future reference (for anyone considering this) -- it's doable, but kind of a PITA. The PIAA 510 (or 520, etc. -- any of the small PIAA lamps) is just a very shallow enclosure, and there isn't a lot of space inside that housing.
A M12 metric washer fits as a spacer between the HID bulb and...
Thanks - and good point on whether I'll end up with a big dark hole in the middle of the beam pattern. That wouldn't be good.
I think I'll try making a spacer, plug it all in, and see what the beam pattern looks like. The lens is glass, and the backside of the reflector is metal -- I assume...
^^ It's for an offroad driving light -- I want a wide flood of light, and have no misconceptions about whether this is going to be street legal or blinding to oncoming drivers.
The stock PIAA halogen 55W bulbs are kind of pathetic. Had I known how weak these lights are in stock form, I...
Packasport roof boxes are fiberglass and rear-loading. Some are fairly low profile. More expensive than the plastic Yakima or Thule offerings, but they are quite well built.
I'm trying to convert a set of PIAA 510 driving lights to HID. The PIAAs come with H3 bulbs, and I bought an H3 HID conversion kit from XenonDepot.
The problem I am running into is that the H3 HID bulb is quite a bit longer than the PIAA halogen H3 bulb, and the tip of the HID bulb touches the...
On all 4th gen (2003-2009) 4Runners:
1) 4WD was optional, vs. 2WD. You could purchase a 2WD (rear wheel drive) 4Runner.
2) 4WD with V8 = fulltime 4WD. Transfer case switch on dash allows selection of high or low range.
3) 4WD with V6 = transfer case switch on dash allows operation in 2WD...
I'm looking for a set of 17" stock Toyota 6-lug wheels. There are two styles I'm interested in:
1) FJ Cruiser -- this type:

2) Old Tundra/Sequoia -- this...
I had similar concerns to yours when winch shopping -- wanted light weight, and relatively low cost, as I don't go wheeling enough to need to use a winch often. I bought an Engo 9000# winch with synthetic line. While I didn't weigh it myself, the quoted total weight for winch, synthetic rope...
