Box, I have a small Step van at the back of my property I use as a man cave/ escape from da wife. Simple plastic garden chairs and table setup so critters don't try to make a home. Gonna hook a solar panel up and put a small battery in it so I can have better lighting (none at moment) and power...
An automatic just slows it down more and makes it harder to get out of it's own way. Robs too much power.
Also, if I remember right, the automatics were kind of problematic.
Go with a manual and it will be more fun and simpler to work on and as an added plus harder for today's generation to...
Not too bad. I've got a line on 1 without the "turtle top" that's rough so might get turned into a sheep shed or yard art.
What's the story on the Centurion Bronco?
Back in the day the Big Foot team had an Aerostar. Supercharged V6 n way cool. If it was an extended body it would have been my dream.
Good luck on the build and I anxiously await updates.
Nice looking rides you have there. Love the Subie with the lift and the Custom Cab. Just picked up an 87 myself and plan to use it as a family runner n light wheeler.
Do you still have your rear swaybar? I do not on my E450 and will not drive it on the highway in the winter even with the 4X4. Floats too much and I'm running 265/70R19.5 Continental (I think) mud and snows, not siped. Gonna get a studded set of something next season.
With my 10k pound 7.3, I noticed a 4 inch exhaust helped with my 35s and 4.56 gearing. Need a tuner and kind of wish I had stayed 4.10s for fuel mileage (average 8.5 mixed driving).
I remember when these came out and wanting one BADLY. Was not of driving age n parents were not interested so did not happen. Good luck and keep us all posted.
Ford vans are easy to lift Quigley or not. Look to U-Joint or google for answers.
As for Chevys, not sure but I believe they have been lifted too. Again, google.
I have an '02 E450 short bus with U-Joint 6 inch lift and 4X4 conversion. Was 4X2 when I purchased it.
Try replacing the master cylinder and booster. Only things left in the brake system that you have not replaced. I've heard of masters leaking in the bore and causing issues. Good luck.
A little late but another place to find a wheel chair lift would be a school bus conversion forum or junk yard. Craigslist on occasion as well.
I know the junk yard I work at has a handful of lifts from short and big busses and am waiting to get one for parts or to just replace the one in my...
Try Deaver Spring or another spring shop that might be closer. Back in the day I got custom 6 inch rear springs and 3 front (no blocks) on a 61 F260 (HD 250) factory 4X4 and all they needed was eye to eye center and width. Should not be that hard for the springs, pitman arm and drag link are...
