For spacers I am running trail gear 1.25” - they are around 100$ a pair. Spidertrax makes 1.5” as well. Both are great quality as well as being hub centric - no need to change out studs and able to reuse the OEM lugs which makes the whole setup both hub and lug centric. Best of both worlds...

@DJB1 home run on the wheel and tire combo on a great single cab. Stellar. This is my barn-find 2nd gen 4runner with 175xxx on the clock, getting about 16 MPG mixed, on 32's. Spacer lift and a rebuilt 3vz because the $1500 truck came with a couple g's worth OEM engine parts. This thread...

Loose camping configuration. I would love to have a rear swinging gate to get the tire out of the back, that would free up all kinds of room. Mounted up the axe and extinguisher, as well as organized the camp Rubbermaid. I am weighing the options of going with a swinging gate bumper, probably...

Got the Tepui mounted up last night. Took quite a bit of work to get it all sorted out and on, about 5 hours. A chop saw came in handy to cut the mounting rails for rear deployment, as well as cutting down the awning mounts to fit on the outer edge of the Yakima bars. I initially wanted to...

    1995 4Runner DD/Adventure "Killbox"

Took a trip a few weeks ago for her first extended-range trip, about 500 miles round trip. Everything performed well, and I even scored 19 MPG on a tank up and through the mountains. I pulled the trigger on a Tepui Autana 3 tent and awning, should be coming in later this week and mounted up...

I’m with Ranger, having a clean matching canopy with all glass adds greatly to resale of the vehicle if you ever move on, with or without the nest. Are you opposed to just cutting a new one out of plexi?

I run 4.56 on my 33x10.5 with a comparable motor build as you. It’s decent, I am seeing 18 in town and 22 on the highway. Cruise at 75 in 5th at about 3200 rpm. If I was going to regear from here I would go up to 5.29 so I could be comfy with the lower end on 33’s and have the ability to go...

I bumped my timing up to between 11-13 advanced, made a big difference for me. I think I did it after 1000 miles but I don’t believe it matters when you do it. I’ve heard of people running 18 advanced but that seems like overkill to me. Gears will help for sure!

Lots of different opinions on break-in out there. Besides changing the oil sooner than later (I’ve seen as soon as 30 miles, I did 200 on my 3.0),keep it gentle for the first couple thousand, avoid constant speeds/highway driving. Sounds like you started off with that right away, 5 hrs worth...

I know how those timelines can shake down. My build was projected for under a month ended up taking four, pretty painful. Nest looks great!

Didn’t have a baseline for the 3.0, but on my 22re just felt like it ran better. No major power increase, just smoother (could have been in my mind). Main goal was getting rid of crap in the engine bay and inside the engine. Install was straightforward, though I had to buy new gaskets that...

Thanks for reading and your input Rob. I am definetly looking forward to the power, but I have to say even coming off a 22 I am impressed with the v6 powerband. I am sure the 3.4 blows the 3vz out of the water. Don’t tease me! How did your swap do for gas mileage? What kind of gears/tire...

Thanks duckhunter! Its a special color. Could you imagine how much a 95 would go now with 65k on the clock!? Wild. Hope your 3.0 went in smoothly, thanks for the compliment! See you out there!
