Gen 1 Tundra Heim Steering Questions

If you can weld decent you won’t have an issue. I’m assuming you’re worried about the thin inserted part of the rs bung? I’ve done many tierods with them and not had an issue, knock on wood Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Finished up the rear shocks before dinner. Sometimes bolt in is a nice thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hahaha, I'm not proud of em, but I picked them up for a steal! Going Longtravel eventually so these will do for about a year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks! I'm doing the rear shocks now, got some old uh... Company before icon coilovers up front. Will build some uniball upper arms next weekend hopefully. Then I'm done with suspension for this season I think. I want to use this more than I work on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Kings we did in the customer's truck went all the way to axle on frame bump and dropped out to the point of the coils going slack, so we machines spacers to top the shocks out early and added straps for peace of mind. I got my ome coils in, one inch taller than the previous truck we worked...

If that happens, great! Are even the auto trannies lasting that long? If so, that's amazing coming from mostly chevy's and fords. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So, after building a 4Runner for a customer a while ago, I really liked it... Wound up selling our broncoII to get one. Goal is either Longtravel up front or just some bolt in coilovers and upper arms, and OME coils in the rear with bolt in King shocks. It's a '98 limited with 230k miles...

    88 broncoII

Not sure if this thing qualifies as an "overlander" but I've driven it from SoCal to pismo, Zion, Brice canyon, and Death Valley and camped in it... It's 4wd, has stronger Dana 35 front and 8.8 rear diffs. 1.5" DOM rock sliders/cage/roof rack, custom tent bed extender thingy I made that sleeps...

Thanks for the comment! I can build more if you'd like! Nothing too crazy in the rear, just some OME coils and bolt in King shocks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Suspension Thoughts or Comments

I'd say it depends on how much ground you want to cover per hour. The great part about "race" type shocks, is you can valve them to your liking, from Cadillac soft to rattle your teeth out stiff, all for about $20 in shims. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Shafts alone would be $650/pair up to 6" longer, rebuild/reboot/assemble is $175 per axle Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Got the new 300m axle shafts connected to the rebuilt/cleaned up cv's. Gotta finish one other truck and then I'm back into this project. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
