    Adventure Tool Company's 1987 FJ60 "Rhino Ride" - Part 2 (2023)

Paul Tell what , your 60 is just flat outstanding. It is an outstanding vehicle. It is properly fitted out. By contrast, our FJ60 is fitted out for "dirt bag camping" and that suits us just fine. My FJ60 has a lot of pinion pine pinstriping on top of the rocker panel rust. The good thing...

    Adventure Tool Company's 1987 FJ60 "Rhino Ride" - Part 2 (2023)

Paul Thanks for the reply. Good to know you have no problem with the hi-lift on the ARB bumper. I concluded with my ARB w/winch that was a long cantilever and I chickened out after seeing all that flex. Anyway, I was in process of cutting down on the weight I carried. Only so much you can...

    Adventure Tool Company's 1987 FJ60 "Rhino Ride" - Part 2 (2023)

I have an 85 FJ60 with a SROR rear bumper installed by a previous owner. Like yours, has a spare tire carrier and ladder. Question: Does SROR still exist? I cannot find a website. Asking because the 'T' handle locking pins for the swing outs are damaged and I need replacements. No luck...

Northern Death Valley Road Conditions 2023 ???

I agree but would add all federal land management agencies seem to have the objective of curtailing vehicular travel on federal land.

To pintle or not to pintle?

The pintile hitch solves a lot of trail related problems. Stay with it

If you meant to include me in that category, you're wrong. For me form ought to follow function. I do not like being enveloped in a cab that is like a cocoon. I do not like to pay for a lot of features I do not need or want. I do not want to pay for wasted/unavailable interior space given...

Marketing decisions based on what soccer moms want I reckon. I prefer the utilitarian and plain styling myself . Both interior and exterior. Only frills I need are heat, AC and an AM/FM radio. The W250 Dodge is a 93, last of the square body design. Then they made them all soft and cuddly...

Need idea: pointy cot feet bad for tent floor

These are from Ace Hardware but I've seen them at Home Depot....etc. They are called "rubber caster cups" https://www.acehardware.com/departments/home-and-decor/cabinet-and-furniture-hardware/protective-furniture-pads/51261

No. The ones I mentioned are flat, disc shaped. I'll try to find a link - stand by.

Need idea: pointy cot feet bad for tent floor

I use rubber furniture leg cups. These are designed to protect hardwood floors and are 2" or a little less in diameter and maybe 1/4" thick in the load bearing area with a raised rim.
