I would not be afraid to fly and drive. it makes it an adventure. just did it actually just drove 2500 miles to get my Elvis Beluga whale from Maine. and I live in Montana. enjoyed the trip. if it was in my price range and I didn't already have a van I would fly and drive. just my .02
