E-Rated 285/75/16's too much tire for two-door JK?

If you're in a snow and ice area, suggest looking at tires with the mountain/snowflake rating. I have 285-70/17 GY Adventures (stock wheels) and they worked well last winter. Run them year-round. They're not quite as soft as dedicated winter tires, but they still meet the spec. GY Duratracs...

    hardtop insulation

Insul-Liner I bought the Insul-Liner from http://www.insul-liner.com/ a couple years ago. They made a huge comfort difference in both hot/cold temperatures, and look great doing it. Yes, they are the most expensive product in this category, but I'd do it all over the same.

Best 32 in tire for snow, ride, and MPG

Suggest looking at the Goodyear Adventure AT. I put a set (285/70-17) on my 2-door Jeep. They are severe snow rated (mountain snowflake branded), the ride is good even though they are E rated, and the MPG is the same as the factory tires. Aired-down they flex well on rocks and sand. Deep mud...

tires from another point of view

To me, the problem is lack of any repeatable test or metric for toughness. Maybe Duratracs are less tough, or maybe they just have a disproportionally high share of the off-road market, etc. To me, all terrain and mud terrain style tread are pretty much equal in moderate rocks -- And airing...

    Hardtop Headliners

Insul-liner's here. Cooled the interior way down in death valley summer heat, and made it more comfortable in winter as well. Really good attachment system, easy to clean, high quality, look good, and fit perfect.

Rock Sliders / Body Damage, Truth or BS?

I've jacked the weight (one side) on poison spyder "rocker knockers" without damage, but the g-forces go up with a drop. Haven't had hard landings, but would bet that a hard drop on a rock in the wrong place could damage something. The advantage over frame mounted is virtually zero clearance...
