How to determine tire pressures; 255/75-17 C on 7"

Correct me if I am wrong, I am not a Jeep guy. In my googleing JK used the 255/75 the JL went to the 285/70 As far as running lower pressures, I just want to be certain I won't slip a bead being on a skinny tire and a narrow wheel. Although Toyo specs say 6.5 - 7.0 - 8.5. Ive never seen a...

How to determine tire pressures; 255/75-17 C on 7"

Interesting that the smaller tire (265/70) has a slightly higher capacity. I am switching from a Nitto Terra Grappler 265/70 LT rated to a 255/75 C rated

How to determine tire pressures; 255/75-17 C on 7"

I am going from a 265/70 to a 255/75. Just wondering what tire pressure I need to run and what is the lowest I should air down to for sand/beach? I think I run 38 cold and air down to 15 on the beach. Obviously I can't go by what the manufacture recommends. Vehicle is 4750lbs with a GVWR of...

My idea to run 255/75-17... More 6112/5160 on a Pro talk.. Long winded :)

After about a year of research and looking at many options and talking to MANY guys around here and also major retailers. I think what's best for me and my driving style is a set of Bilstein 6112 with 600lbs spring, and 5160 with the Eibach +1" rear spring. I was leaning heavily towards BP51s...

    Perfect Camp Stove Griddle?

I agree 100%. I had a problem with my 30 year old Colman 2 burner and had some coupons for a big box store that sold Blackstones. I picked up a single burner flat top. I took it on one trip. It worked amazingly well! I felt like a food vendor at a fair making cheese steaks for dinner then...

How deep can 4x4 vans get you? Beginner questions...

I feel like I am in the same pickle as the OP! I easily get drawn in by the Storyteller Beast Mode and more frequently seen (over priced) Revel. I have always loved the work and business model of Sportsmobile. That is probably the way Ill go when its time. I plan to go with the Food Transit...

    Harbor Freight compressors?

I have something similar... I really like it.. I think it will take my 265s (OE tires) from 20 to 36ish in around 1min?(never really timed it...) Its just a pain to get everything out, connect to battery, pump, unscrew fitting, check psi...... yada yada.. I love the under hood ARB mounts and...

Tie downs for mesh type racks?

I guess what I don't know is how easy the hooks fit down in the mesh grates of the rack.

Tie downs for mesh type racks?

On the Gobi wait list... Ive got nothing but time to research accessories! What do you use to tie items down to the mesh style racks? Ill be tiring down some totes, maybe a small fuel container (4gal), water container, traction boards.. typical stuff.. I really like cam type tiedowns. I use...

    Harbor Freight compressors?

I was at my favorite odds and ends store, Harbor Freight. I noticed these relatively small air compressors. 2-3gal.. They are really compact and could probably be taken off of the “frame” and made even smaller. They would need to be run off of AC power. I think most guys have some kind of...

BajaRack dual water can or dual fuel can holder

Looks like they might have redesigned them, both the water and fuel hold downs are horizontal.. and there is a $10 price difference.. the fuel is $190 and water is $200. Wonder what the difference is?

BajaRack dual water can or dual fuel can holder

Will with water and fuel mounts hold a water can and fuel can at the same time? Ill very rarely need 10 gal of water or fuel at one time.

Am I crazy to want a mild long travel setup on a 80% road DD 4Runner?

As far as I know you would have shock rebuilds every 50k or so, possibly pivots to grease on linkages? Maybe added U joint inspections of your?

Am I crazy to want a mild long travel setup on a 80% road DD 4Runner?

Good info. I can’t do UNIBalls because of the winter weather and road salt. And shock rebuilds are an inconvenience too. For that reason I’ve also considered Bilstein 5100s and be done.
