I'm putting the tire on the driver side to avoid a blind spot when i look over my shoulder when i back up. If you tire is small enough to clear the passenger side door then id say make it a double swing out, mine is not. I will always have to open the tire side to access my passenger side barn door.
I can not believe you selling the Toyota so soon?..The only thing i don't like about the vans.... They are so hard to work on the engine.Other than that they are just as reliable as any old Chevy/Ford truck.
I think it's time for another Suburban:victory:
Too bad your door does not slide open. The you could close the tire carrier than slide close your door.
Could you tie a rope to the swing away carrier then route it through the window of the door?
That's exactly what I'm using.Another benefit is they are also the same parts my suburban uses on it's front axle so now i have built in trail spares if needed.
Yeah my tire will be on the driver side. Jerry cans will be on the passenger side.
With a 37'' tire on the back i do not see many options to open a door without first opening the swing away. Any clever ideas?
The bumper still needs to be attacked with a flapper disk to smooth and round all the edges before paint. Im leaving the hitch where it is due to the amount of towing i do.It has the factory skid plate on the fuel tank.
Later i'm going with 8'' lift springs on the rear that will give me much...
