2000 Ford Excursion axle swap question

Please keep us updated and post the links to what you bought (upgrades) and pics of install and axle build. I am interested in doing this as well in the future. Thanks!

Lets see some full size pictures...

That was just a fire pit from previous campers. Fire restrictions were in place when we went, with only propane pits allowed. ;)

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Howdy ya'll, so I had my Scout since Jan 2018 and have used it a ton. This weekend we went out camping again and I was up early so decided to do a little walk-around my well-used trailer. I highlight some of the camping items that I love, for others to get ideas. It would be nice to see a...

3 Weeks in Baja – Surfing, SUPing and Dirt Roading

Jesus, man, we get it, stop complaining. Also, you can't compare Moab - rock crawler/mountain bike/raft ad hike paradise to Baja. Most Americans I know don't even have a passport and/or are afraid to go to Mexico because it's "dangerous" and they don't speak "mexican." So chill, it will not kill...

 Good thing it's from HF so no costly damage done. My HF sidebox has suffered some abuse too.

Good to see you finally got it. Yes, they tow great on and off road with a maxcoupler hitch. On the freeway doing 80mph with no issues. I'm in AZ, and after building my trailer in the driveway I just took it to a local 3rd party DMV where I told the 16 year old that it's a homebuilt trailer...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

See in my last post above on my jeep mods. No airbags, Metalcloak lift coils and Falcon shocks. And yes, I did move the tire to the rear using a yakima swing away and an eTrailer spare tire holder. I wanted something modular, but will in the near future probably buy the one that everyone else is...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Sorry, one more thing for jeep owners searching. I am running a metalcloak 3.5 lift on 37’s and 5.38 gears. Also no rear sway bar and the Falcon adjustable shocks - make a big difference in handling by setting them on hard in the rear when towing. That is all.

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Flying down the beach in Mexico, dirt washboards of AZ, towing from Phoenix to Flagstaff all the time (big elevation change) and doing it at 70-80mph is not an issue for my ‘16 jkur on 37’s and 5.38 gears. The pics show how I am when fully loaded for a few days camping on the beach. Not trying...

well I hope I win an award for jerry-rigging but see the photos for your answer. This is loaded to go with items on, (minus the CO2 tank,) including 20# propane tank, and the heaviest part - Goal Zero Yeti 1250 @103lbs and extra battery @100lbs in the generator drawer. Plus welded extra bracing...

The trailer sits pretty high stock. I am running 37's on my JKUR and it's just about level. Also, I have had the trailer for years and never bothered to hookup the brakes as my jeep only came with the 4 pin connector. I got the 7 pin conversion but it's still in the garage... I have no issues...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

No idea on where the quickest way to order one through is these days, but if you want it pre-assembled 4WP is the way to go as far as I know. I ordered mine not assembled/on a crate back in 2018 from a jeep website and they delivered it to my house. As far as will it fit in the garage with an...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Do we have any Scout owners from Arizona here? I would love to do a meet-up and maybe some camping/overlanding trips. I am in North Phoenix and spend a lot of time in Flagstaff as well. Feel free to message me or reply here.

I should add that I have the 3.5 inch MetalCloak game changer lift on mine with the falcon adjustable shocks. The sag is minimal when hooked up and the shocks do great in the firm setting. I also do not have a rear swaybar anymore.
