House battery charging via solar, alternator, OR generator.

I believe the models that have a D at the end have solar input as the D refers to dual input. The 1225D, 1240D and 1250D all have solar built in. Which NOCO battery charger are you running that does not float? My G3500 v2 has a maintenance mode and claims the battery can be left like that...

House battery charging via solar, alternator, OR generator.

A DC to DC charger, a solar controller, and a shore power charger can all be hooked up to your battery together. A Redarc BCDC charger would charge with alternator and solar as it has a solar controller built in. Or you could get a Victron DCDC charger and a Victron MPPT solar controller...

    Tex's 200 Series

Just curious, why smaller in the rear? If/when loaded down with camping gear, that’s a good amount of weight to control so I figure the bigger shock the better? I believe Icon has a 3.0 as well for the 200, not sure what their maintenance intervals are though.

    Tex's 200 Series

Any thought on leaning toward Kings since they offer theirs in a 3.0 compared to the Dobinson’s 2.5?

    WeBoost

I have a Smoothtalker amplifier and it has worked great. Just this weekend I was in Kolob (outside of Zion) and no one had service. I got in my truck with the booster and I had 3 bars and was able to make a phone call, but I had no internet (Verizon). So yes amplifiers will give you better...

    Overlander Shower

Nemo Helio LX that I use for showers, rinsing dishes, brushing teeth, etc. If the water isn’t warm enough from sitting out all day in the sun I just add in a kettle of boiling water and mix it up. You can fill it from any water source you feel comfortable showering in, but I’ve only ever used...

    Fridge or wait ?

Apparently my Engel was made with unicorn fur or something because it runs just fine pulling its <3a max draw off the 10a total capacity rated 12v plugs in my 3rd gen 4Runner, and never had a problem being used for a day with a group 24 lead acid starting battery.

    I’m still not happy

You need to realize that companies are now have to do more with less. In the shipping/distribution world there’s less people as they typically have to run a smaller crew to ensure proper spacing, and they typically have to stop early to allow time for extra cleaning now. On top of that, the...

    Fridge or wait ?

I’d say get the fridge now and also get one of those lithium jump packs just in case. Unless your main battery is in bad shape or you plan on being stationary without starting your truck for multiple days then the second battery won’t be necessary. I was stationary for over 36 hrs on a trip...

Fridge Install- Single Battery in Jeep JKU

I run a Batteries Plus X2 in a group 31 size and have been parked for 3 days with no solar in Sedona and was fine. I do have an Antigravity XP-10 just in case my battery dies, but so far I’ve never had to use it for my own rig.

12V to the RTT - the nicer (?) way...

Thank you for the links to those project boxes. Looks like you just drilled a hold for a Blue Sea 12v outlet? Oh, I wish my brain worked that way sometimes, but if you knew me you would know that’s impossible. I took an under sink RO water system install that should’ve taken 45 mins with...

    Overlanddad Garage Sale

Any chance whoever bought the RakAttach is on here and anywhere near Vegas? I’d love to test one out on my 4Runner with a bumper swing out to make sure it’ll clear with my spare tire and Trasharoo attached.

    RTT rainfly storage

I took my rain fly off shortly after getting my Howling Moon RTT. My plan is if I’m going out on a trip and it’s forecasted to rain a lot then I’ll re-install it, but fortunately all my trips in the last few years have only had rain on one night here & there. These tents stayed dry without a...

12V to the RTT - the nicer (?) way...

Do you have info on what supplies you used? I’m very interested in that project box. I’m trying to get a setup inside my RTT where I have two 12v plugs and 2-3 switches - one switch for the outside light on the roof rack so I can see at night when I climb down to pee, and a switch for an...

Camping Totes or Dry Food Storage

I have this tote from The Container Store and am very happy with it. It’s got a gasket to help keep water & bugs out, and the lid is very strong so you can stand on the box. I wish I could find the same style box that’s slightly smaller...
