    4Daughter 4Runner

Today a pair of power outlets replaced the rear ashtray on this overland build. Plates of 6061 aluminum were used centering the power outlets and increasing surface area when mounting to the plastic center console. I'm on the fence if the rear seats should be removed for a camper setup.

    4Daughter 4Runner

It is really fun teaching kids to use various tools. While the 4x4 shift knob is in great shape, I showed her how a lathe can be used making your own parts! Also made a wooden version that is on there now :)

Yes! She just turned 15 and she is learning how to drive standard on the 4runner as well.

    4Daughter 4Runner

I've been rebuilding this 87 4runner with my daughter over the past year. So far we have rebuilt the 22re, fixed the hubs, replaced the suspension, fixed the passenger CV, replaced dry rotted tires, repainted the top and installed some fog lights (not pictured). Next up we are planning to swap...

1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 Value

Images look nice. Value on a vehicle is really difficult to determine especially just with a few photos. Vehicle is worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Question

I have not heard of Tuff Stuff Overland till recently and have not seen any of their products in person. Form their website, I looked at the Tacoma bed racks and their tents. Based upon experience, I like how their racks are gusseted. Potential down sides is how the bed rack mounts on the bed...

    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Question

Well, Walt Wagner of Tactical Application Vehicles, a certified JB dealer, mounted several of the JB tents backwards on Tacomas. All showed the same failure mode no matter if they were mounted forward or back. Some may be happy with the JB tents, but they all have the same design defect. A...

    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Question

Very smart question to ask. I'm in the same boat. What I do know is that James Baroud tents have a number of design defects where they fail after 1.5 years. James Baroud will not stand behind their 5 year warranty so they are not a consideration.

    M416 wiring Harnesses help!

The original M416 wiring and connectors was a bit corroded on my trailer. I ended up rewiring the entire trailer. Lights would fade out, so I simply ran a ground wire connecting directly to the inner lamp housing. Now the lights are much brighter and do not fade. After hauling it over 1000 miles...

New M416 build and questioning frame

I'm finally to the stage starting to build on an old M416 trailer. It had a few bumps around the edges, but for the age it is in great condition. Now I'm questioning if I have a RTT hard mounted to a welded frame 22" off the top of the trailer deck if it would be to tall. Problem is I'm tall...

Anything compete with the Superlite for weight and cost..?

Dumb question, but is terrapod still a concept or are they in production. Quality looked to be on point with a few articles. I'd really like to talk with the owner prior to another RTT.

    Question for you RTT owners

If there is a means to fabricate / buy a pulley system for a garage / shed that is the easiest means of moving a RTT around

    James Baroud latches

I would try to source a quality latch to replace the JB latch. Grainger has always been helpful, but you want to ensure form, fit, and function are identical to OEM.
