I run the heated Truck-Lites and really like them. I always used the fogs because the stock headlights are terrible. Now I never use the fogs. The LEDs are super bright and the beam is wider. No issues with them icing up at all this winter so far.
That's exactly why I sold it. I just didn't use it enough.
At first I tried to keep it dual purpose. Camping trailer and utility trailer for trips to Home Depot, hauling leafs to the dump, etc.
First I built a rack to hold the RTT and left the trailer open for hauling stuff around home...

I have one installed in my 2015 JKU. It blocks most of the lower vent but there is a large vent on the section of the tailgate that angles in towards the interior of the Jeep behind the tailgate handle that isn't blocked at all. Not sure if all model years have that vent though.
Are they necessary? Probably not. They are spendy, but the peace of mind was worth the cost to me!
