Kind of depends what truck you have but generally, you have to create a passage through the bed for most electrical.
For rear camera, I relocated mine above the license plate and did not need any extension cables etc.
For exterior lighting, you will have to drill holes through your camper, not...
The Deavers are a good choice but might be overkill for what you need. If you plan on emptying your gear out between each excursion and don't have a steel rear bumper, I would choose a lower spring rate or your rear will ride on the stiffer side. You might also want to look into Dobinsons. I...
I would love to hear some of the funny comments/questions people have asked when they see your Canopy Camper. I will start
"What is that, like DJ equipment??"
or
"Oh cool, you even have a ramp on the back to load up your motorcycle!" (talking about the Maxtrax mounted to the door)
Very nice build! I am totally on board with the OCD record keeping lol. Thank you for sharing, I love seeing unique builds in that they really get the gears turning and the ideas flowing.
Makes sense. I'm no expert but I could see where filling an air gap with something to create a thermal bridge would yield the opposite effect, however I am under the impression foams and materials that provide loft are specifically designed to have minimal thermal transfer between surfaces. I...
Definitely a concern. The "Window and Door" variation is supposed to apply less psi to the surrounding structure than the regular stuff to prevent the distortion of whatever you are spraying it in. I don't particularly care for the stuff but its all I can come up with to insulate the interior of...
Sounds easy enough! How are you doing the filler panels? Using L-brackets to mount ply or similar or are you actually using the 80/20 groove to almost picture frame a thin enough panel to slide into the grooves?
Good planning! Makes perfect sense. I wish I was more proficient in the design and use of 80/20. My bed is currently still a blank canvas while I try to plan out the build. 80/20 seems like a viable option over just building a setup out of plywood and pocket screws. While the Goose stuff is nice...
