    Pop-up camper without wide base.

As mentioned above, to get into something that narrow at the rear, the models built for mid sized trucks are probably your best bet. FWC built the original Fleet and Ranger II that may fit the bill if you can find one. Four Seasons had a model too IIRC. Good Luck.

    Overland Mod Casita Axle

“Do I have experience with trailer springs? 1974. Baja.” Now that’s a story that catches one’s interest! Thanks for sharing Casa. I too suggest if you have leaf springs, go with the advice given thus far. As for the torsion axles, I offer the following. We have a couple military trailers at...

    Trailer or Canopy? Or Neither!?

As illuded to, you need to consider “how” you see yourself operating. I own both a FWC truck camper, and now a pop up trailer, so I offer the following: If you plan or invision yourselves tour camping or wandering, where you are packing and moving daily or almost daily, a canopy, slide in...

Les Schwab (Dean) Back Country SQ-4 A/Ts? Impressions?

Have a set on our Ranger. Had a different Deans tire on it prior. Had a set of their Wild Country tires in between. The wear life was better on the first Deans and appears that the current Deans will out live the Wild Countries. They do well in snow and the tread holds up ok to the lava rock...

    ******** Move?

Overall, no ******** move here. As mentioned there is probably a range acceptability. Park and hike cool. Small popular trailhead I'd camp if I was only sleeping, not "pitching". Big open or rarely used, I camp out of the way and don't look back. Can't speak for Colorado, but here in Oregon, at...

Anyone used on board air to pressurize a water tank?

Actually, back in the day pressurized potable tanks were somewhat common on regular camp trailers. As a kid my relatives had a Kenskill trailer with a pressurized tank. The fill lid had a inner tube valve in the middle of it. Used to keep a bicycle pump in the storage bin to service it in the...

    Any Pop-Up Camper owners here?

I have both a pop up camper and trailer. As you can see from the photo it's not hanging out at the KOA. Reading the standard forums one would get the impression their native habitat is the paved site at the full hookup campground. A search of this forum will turn up several posts illustrating...

80s FWC Keystone canvas sidewall question

That seems like a reasonable approach as long as the main canvas is still supple enough. The longer you can get use out of the original the better IMO. A replacement canvas is $900-$1100 for the canvas alone.

    New Four Wheel Camper owner

What you've done is build your version of a Happijac turnbuckle. Or an inverted, sorta like version of the tank to frame mounting system used on our water trucks at work. Nice approach and should serve you well as long as your spring tension is stout enough. As an aside, this thread is one of...

    1989 Jayco pop-up

Yup, The Reico Tripod isn't a bad system except #1 there are only 3 jacks and #2 the tripod bases. A lot of people, (Me included) just get a fourth mount plate and jack then convert to a corner system. The Reico mount plates have a hole in the support struts to accommodate the turn buckles...
