I had a similar experience with a new trailer, that had a Timbren 3500HD axle. Happened to notice smoke billowing from one wheel (65mph). Pulled over to see axle nut, cotter pin gone, outer bearing loose on axle shaft and wheel riding loose on axle shaft. I imagine another quarter mile and I...
I put a fabric sheet over our trailer, which is parked between our garage and a side fence.
Trying tokeep the HOA happy and UV off the trailer. So far, so good.
it can and will, if wired properly. The Hopkins website clearly indicates it does. My trailer, however, didn’t have the power wire connected, so it didn’t charge. It does now, as it should. Maybe you have a different model breakaway switch.
The wires should be all color-coded, as should the terminals. The wiring on my box was kind of a mess, with unconnected wires (no wonder my pull-away brake didn’t recharge!) I wound up tearing everything out and rewiring properly. I can’t get photos to attach, I can send you a wiring diagram if...
I have a BC35 mounted on my rear license plate, makes it easy to run the wire into the trailer. Power to the camera uses one of the “open“ switches. The overlander works great, but, as Mike mentioned, one has to remember to bring it into the trailer. I haven’t used it enough to ascertain how...
Thanks, Mike. I agree re: the hub adapter. I planned on replacing the hub with a hub that has the same 5x150 bolt pattern as the LC wheels. On my previous two trailers, I used same wheels/tires on the tow vehicle and trailer.
mep1811: Mike, I am also pulling my MO with a 200. Did you swap out your hubs so you could run 5x150 wheels on your trailer? If so, how did you mount the spare? It seems to be setup for a six bolt wheel. Thanks!
Cool! We are near GJ.
There is a valve that lets to drain the Truma. It’s a cam lever. Hopefully you used it to drain the tank in the Truma. You’ll want to make sure it’s closed. Once you energize the pump, turn on the hot water at the sink, and eventually air will stop coming out, just water...
We are on the Best Slope as well!
Haven‘T seen the need to disinfect. (yet) Will just but 20-30 gallons in the tan, turn on the pump, and turn on the Truma, and run hot and cold water through the sink and shower until the air is out of the lines. It can take a little while.
I’d suggest looking deeper here and in similar places to see how builders support their owners. There are builders like A/T Overland, Summit Trailers, and others who go to great lengths to support their products. Others, not so much. I’ve owned a few trailers and campers, and the best builders...
on my trailer, there is slightly more than 25“ fore-aft in the battery area, and it’s about 11“ wide…more room if you can fit between the slides for the fridge.
Hope that helps.
That looks really good. FWIW, ours came with the Redarc manager 30 installed. I really like it, despite some of the design features that led to its demise as OEM for Mission. I replaced the battery with a 100ah lithium battery, and added 2 120w SunPower flexible panels to the roof. That setup...
