Manu! Sorry Frank I haven't been hanging out here in the Portal as much as I once was. We replaced the locks with Yale home locks... There is a thread here in expo somewhere about it if I recall correctly. Hope everything is cool wherever you are. I'm sweating my ***** off in Bulgarian heat...
Could I ask if you were checking the house battery voltage after a couple of days of use? An 80 amp hour battery would take a beating from a 60qt fridge and a Fantastic Fan/Endless Breeze fan. I am mostly curious. Thank you.
Hey Pilot enjoy the pre trip and the planning!
I got sort of lucky cause I replaced my gas engine with a newly rebuilt 12HT and I therefore had a pretty much brand new engine. Other than that I did all necessary maintenance typically needed by Landcruisers. Knuckles, all oils replaced, new...
I meant to post this up when I uploaded it. Here is our set up. The FJ 60 has been in the US for about 10 months or so. We drove around 18 countries, over 4 years and over 70 thousand miles with this drawer set up and it is still solid if a bit scarred here and there. I used prefinished...
Well the Landcruiser has been back in the U.S. for 10 months now. After over 4 years and over 70k miles around the Americas it is back in California and has been my daily driver since. In 3 weeks it is going in storage for about 7 months while we do another leg of our world travels without it...
I placed it further back so that my Pelican could be in front of it to deflect branches and bugs... aerodynamics? Who would I kid... I drive an unstoppable heavy diesel brick on wheels
I like the design, what cooler box do you use? I've been using 4x4Labs rear bumper for the last 5 years and a lot of abuse and they are still hanging in there well. I stand on the tire frequently to get to the RTT with no issues. Stout.
Indeed, the D250S has an incorporated charge controller (a very nice one) that you do NOT have to use, but you are paying for it. If you need it in the future I would say it is a good choice.
As far as diagram: I could tell you I will do it, but right now it probably won't happen... I am in...
Hey Dan you can send me questions in a PM or by email if you like as well.
As far as which Engel to get I'd say for 2 people I would not go smaller than the 45. We were quite happy with it. The draw on the different size fridges is similar because I do believe they all share the same "innards"...
I do not find your post pedantic DiploStrat, I found it very informative.
I stated on the OP that we were dropping the battery below 11.5v while remote camping for several days at a time and before we enjoyed the luxury of the current set-up (though I admit I could use more jucie from a larger...
