Adding door window to Chevy Express question

Thanks for the reply. I have already spray foam insulated that door. I think I might just keep it as is and just try to stay out of a situation where I can't see to my right.

Adding door window to Chevy Express question

I have a Chevy express cargo van I'm doing a conversion on. It has no windows in the cargo area. I plan to add a window to the front passenger side barn door for viewing traffic on odd lefthand turns. My question is does the glass just seal straight to the skin after cutting out an opening? I...

Great job. I will definitely follow this for when I complete my conversion! Thanks for sharing this.

First attempt at a van conversion(Chevy Express) ... It begins...

So, I was finally able to get some momentum going now that I have 3 weeks off work. First and foremost I replaced the stereo and speakers... Priorities while I use it to get materials etc. The van being a cargo basic model had no power licks or windows. I went down the route of trying to figure...

First attempt at a van conversion(Chevy Express) ... It begins...

In 2017 I built my first pop-up camper. I posted the entire process on here and appreciated all the kind words, advice and mostly information. I finally got the exact van I was looking for for this conversion. I am in the most infantile stage of the conccersion, but gotta get a clean slate to...

Purchasing a van, looking for advice

Now begins the search for the right van to come up for sale. I am really leaning towards the extended Express now. Sadly, its so rare to find one in a 2500/3500 with either the 5.3 or 6.0 in it. Then add on top of that trying to find one with a clean skin. Im trying to stay in a budget of less...

Purchasing a van, looking for advice

So if I understand correctly, the Express only made the AWD in the 1500? I was always looking for a 250/2500 or 350/3500. Is it really required for van conversions that aren't going to be a dedicated off-road rig?

Purchasing a van, looking for advice

Exactly our plan, I have no hangups with fuel economy. Thanks for the info! I think I have narrowed it down to the regular WB van versus extended. If I can find one with a HiTop even better. But I have opened my searches to both Chevy and Ford. Now it just comes down to finding the right one. I...

Purchasing a van, looking for advice

Thanks alot for this. I didn't even realize the narrow factor. Being 6'2" I had planned for a rear to front layout bed. Ill have to broaden my options. I hope you found the sticker =) https://www.boneyardflygear.com/ just in case you didn't =)

Purchasing a van, looking for advice

I feel trapped here looking at your profile pic! I originally looked at the Econoline vans. I have never owned a Ford and working for the fire department when we had used Ford in our Ambulance fleet they had constant issues. Not saying Chevys don't, but I have owned a Chevy and had pretty good...

Purchasing a van, looking for advice

Great advice, thanks Able. I do have a different budget set aside that includes repainting whatever van I do get. Originally, I was just looking at getting a regular wheelbase Express. Most posts I read regarding deciding between the 2 lengths said go for the 155 as you will regret losing out on...

Purchasing a van, looking for advice

Greetings, I am currently in the market for a van to start a conversion build. I am specifically looking at the Chevy Express Extended 2500 hopefully with a larger motor than the 4.8. I was aiming for around a 2014 model just so it wasn't as old and had some more modern features (if that's a...

Econoline measurement between driver and passenger seat?

Appreciate the responses, I agree with the walk through portion. This is what I get for involving the wife in this build. The model Dometic is the 75 size so it is pretty big. I'd prefer it to be on a slide out in the back. Also I read the dimensions incorrectly, it's 19". Thanks again!
