That's a great little trailer with a lot of character! It looks exactly like you described it: a civilian version of a WW2 jeep trailer. I love it when people can fix up something old and stay true to the original design. Keep those updates coming!

Were you been driving when you ran into the storms or was the trailer parked? Air flow across a surface can create a whole bunch of different vacuums that will suck water into seams and pockets it wouldn't normally drip into.

A lot of people try to use the same wheels as the tow vehicle so you can use the same spare tire on either vehicle. When you're buying the axle, you may want to try to get some hubs that are compatible with the wheels on your Rubicon.
