    DIY Fridge Slider for WK

Thanks! No plans to travel, unless we decide to bug out, lol. I've taken this rig up some pretty hellish trails here in Colorado and with the Eaton E-Lockers it keeps up with the jacked up JKs with ease. Not planning to beat on it too much going forward though, its my backup vehicle in case my...

    DIY Fridge Slider for WK

Thanks, honestly you probably could make something similar without the angle iron... I considered cutting more of the strapping timber into 12" pieces and securing the sliders with 10-12 2" deck screws per side. I had the angle from another project, so used it. No reason to shell out $350 for...

    DIY Fridge Slider for WK

Thought you guys might enjoy seeing the end result of this project. I'm going to integrate a small LiFePO4 50aH chained to my Yeti 400 into the jeep as well for overlanding. Will charge off 200W of solar and alternator as needed. Build List: 48" piece of 2"x2" 1/4" channel iron - $25 (?) at...

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK (2005-2010) as ExPo vehicle

Unless you're going to use takeoff JK tires, might want to look into a proper offset dedicated rim setup for a little more than the spacers. I went with 17X8.5 -6 Offset 5x127 MB Motoring TKO Black alloy rims and mounted 285/70-17 Duratracs. These were from Discount Tire Direct Ebay Store back...

Jeek Grand Cherokee WK Roof Rack Solar Setup

So I finished up my roof rack install and solar kit last weekend. Decided on a single 100W panel, and picked up a ROCKPALS folding 100W one to wire in parallel if needed. Still need to figure out how to route the wiring and Yeti 400 + ARB 50 QT storage however. I have the materials for a slider...

Jeek Grand Cherokee WK Roof Rack Solar Setup

Just got my custom roof rack in and am considering the best path forward for a solar panel setup to keep my Yeti 400 and deep cycles charged up. Unfortunately the two 100 watt panels I've bought earlier this year don't quite fit the way I was hoping. Now, Renogy makes a slim version that would...

SSF556 Build Up - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD

I picked up my CRD 3.0L Overland with 70k miles in 2013 and it's now at 156k. I recommend avoiding any used WK with over 100k miles unless it's an absolute steal. I keep a tracking spreadsheet for all the goofy stuff that has broken and its cost me alot over the years. It's in the shop today...

12v Cigarette plug in back enough for fridge?

No problem running my ARB 50 qt off my 2007 WK's rear 12V plug.

Adventures in lifting a WK CRD

Man, before going that route, if you haven't added the GDE Hot Tune, do that. There's also several mods you can do to open up the engine so it can breathe better, such as deleting the intercooler inlet resonator (there's a russian silicone resonator delete hose for $150), and even upgrading the...

Adventures in lifting a WK CRD

You really think you need a regear with the CRD? I'm running 33's on mine with the GDE hot tune and just idle along while rock crawling in the rockies. Turbo only needs to throw 2-3 psig boost to get over most obstacles with the Eaton e-lockers. I'm planning a modified superlift myself later...
