On that shifting issue, you might check out the clutch engagement first. If it gets out of adjustment and doesn't completely disengage when the pedal's down, it makes it really tough to shift. Where in the clutch pedal stroke does the clutch grab?

im new to site, so may be doing this wrong. I have a question. im having some trouble when shifting gears in my 86 pickup 4x4 any ideas on how to repair? i.e. what parts to buy? what are the correct brands? what should I expect to pay?
