    Who Built This Unimog Camper

Angles for large campers Here are some examples of tipping angles, the first is a video from company Blissmobil in Germany, testing the angles for a "fully loaded" camper on a Mercedes Zetros chassis (also check out the videos by "Cytros4x4 Reisetruck" on youtube for more Mercedes Zetros camper...

    U300 Camper

If the rail on rail mounting is by flexible springs/mounts (can be fixed on one end) and you are not planning the most extreme offroading it's a viable way to mount the box. Lots of builders inngermany use this in series production, however less ofthen on unimogs.

Window tinting on the front window and front side windows is also illegal in most of europe. I do not know if this applies to foreign vehicles visiting?

    '90 Mercedes 917 Camper Build

Look at the Truma airconditioner here: http://www.truma.com/int/en/air-conditioning/saphir-vario.php It can be used while on the move if you have a converter and a large enough generator. I'm not sure it is available in North America though...

Leveling Block Size for Larger Tires

I have the "Fiamma Level System Jumbo" rated up to 12 t pr. axle (but i would personally not trust it all the way there). 4 of them solves about everything you need (2 in a pack). Im currently at 4,4 t on the rear axle, and 3,9 t on the front. Atego with 385/65 R22.5 (previously on 365/80 R20...

    pivoting frames and mounting campers

Four point mount The four point mounting system works as the front and rear frame mounts allow flex at both ends, while the centre mount remains fixed. Combined with only twisting at the ends this isolates the box from the frame. If the frame where to flex lengthwise, it would not work...

Look at the 24v/12v battery to battery chargers from Votronic in Germany. I have good experience with it in my Atego 4x4. (440ah,12v for living, 220ah/24v for truck.) New member from Norway, soon to have a new truck!

Hi David, No follow up thread yet I'm afraid. I'll make a thread about some of our travels shortly if you like (after this years holiday...) :) We got a son the year after delivery of the truck, so the really long trips are somewhat postponed until he can be more involved. We changed the...

    Jim the Truck - a mercedes 1823

Thank you for the info. I know of a company near where I live that builds fire brigade trucks, I'll stop by and ask what they can do for me, seems like they make a lot of specialized one-off stuff so it may be just the ticket!

    Jim the Truck - a mercedes 1823

Hi Nick, I was not very precise in my request for information, sorry about that! I'm inquiring about the part on top of the drivers cab, see items marked in red on picture. I have been checking with some of the offroad RV builders to have something made, but it's very expensive! So anything I...
