Getting a Saab back off the road.

If your 96 was white with an orangeish interior it would match the car I bought new in 1968. I put some Hella lights and good tires on it and ran it all over the National Forests in PA, VA, and WV. for 4 years. Replaced the exhaust several times since it was the low point on the car.

    My Journey

And the fact that they have been roaming wild there since the 1600's adds to that feeling.

    Subaru Forest Questions

No build thread. Actually not much building, just bolting on purchased parts. Some I put on myself and some I had someone do for me.

Good choice. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.

What vehicle is right for me

I don't do any towing but my 2015 Outback with a LP Aventure 2" lift would fit most of your criteria. I get ~26mpg in mixed driving and can handle any dirt road/fire trail I have found so far. You might need to go a couple years older to meet your budget though I have seen used 2015's for 25K...

    LP Outback Lift?

As mentioned, the LP Aventure kit is simple to install as are most of the others. The thing I like about their kit is that things like the subframe spacers to correct wheel position and longer exhaust hangers are included in the kit. My 2015 Outback with the LP Aventure 2" lift installed.

2014 Subaru Outback need suggestions on tires and rack

2015 Outback here. I have the 225/65/17 Geolander G015's and a Yakima Load Warrior rack mounted on the stock crossbars. Spent a lot of time researching and those were my choices. And I haven't regretted the choices.

    Thinking about new Subaru Outback...

Love my 2015 Outback with the 2.5. Haven't found the need for a lift yet but, don't get a chance to try really challenging stuff around here. I did put on a brush guard and skid plates from LPAventure which have worked fine for me.

Anyone put BF Goodrich KO2s on their late model Forester? If so, please comment.

The weight is why I ended up with Yokohama Geolander G015's on my 2015 Outback. The KO2's are 10# per tire heavier than the stock tires. The Yokohama's are the same weight as the stock ones.

Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

Some pics of my 2015 Outback 2.5l Premium. First modification was a 19mm rear swaybar for better road handling. Then I got the Yakima LoadWarrior basket (probably never use it but it was too cheap to pass up). Then I got carried away. 225/65/17 Yokohama Geolander G015 tires on Sparco Terra...
