    TFL defender?

Yeah, I sort of get TFL's stance of testing with the tires the vehicle comes with, but nobody in their right mind is going to do anything beyond super easy trails with the stock tires on pretty much any off road vehicle these days unless they happen to purchase something with an offroad package...

    TFL defender?

That video TFL made about the bad shock on the Bronco really rubbed me the wrong way both in terms of click bait and in how long it took Tommy to find the source of the leak. They had a leak on the floor under where the Bronco was parked. So the OBVIOUS move is to look above where the puddle...

Land Cruiser converts, please weigh in on your post-conversion thoughts

Despite being both longer overall and wider than the older style G, the new style has less cargo space behind the 2nd row seats (I measured both with a tape measure as it was a factor in my decision on keeping my 2017 G63, buying a new G550/G63, or moving on to something else), especially when...

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

Yeah, depreciation is definitely a consideration and is an area that Nissan/Infiniti loses the battle with Toyota. However, my goal IS to keep the vehicle for a while. In hindsight, the move I made from my 2006 LX-470 to a 2008 Toyota Highlander because of the huge increase in gas prices at...

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

So it sounds like there's some truth to what that person told me. I had initially had the impression that the USA market Armada and QX80 were Patrols with fairly minor changes (different rear bumpers, a different mix of interior options, not much else different). But different running gear is...

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

Yup (and ouch!). They really are wonderful vehicles and the pre-2019 G63 is something truly special, but they're expensive to keep running. Part of the high initial cost of the vehicle is for covering the warranty repairs which they know are going to be expensive if/when something breaks. The...

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

The prices I quoted were MSRP from the build your vehicle pages and I clearly stated that I wasn’t sure how much the Nissan and Infiniti dealers will discount at the moment. I’m not expecting to have to pay full MSRP for a Land Cruiser either, but probably wouldn’t get as much of a discount.

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

As far as the 401K and stuff goes, I've been maxing out my 401K contributions for many years now, am maxing out my IRA contributions, and putting additional money away each month in other investments. All the retirement calculators tell me I'm more than on target to retire in ~10 years at 60...

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

Thanks for the responses, everyone. The Mercedes was a dream purchase for me and since I'm single, don't have kids, have a good job, and don't have a mortgage to worry about (just SUPER cheap rent living with my brother), I can swing it even though it's a bit of a stretch - I'm definitely not...

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

Thanks for the feedback. Since I'd be going from a G63 to an Armada or QX80, I'm not too worried about body roll :). The gas mileage would be a nice improvement too as I typically get less than 15mpg, even on a really good day and the G63 requires premium - IIRC from the rental, the Armada...

Thoughts on the current generation Armada / Infiniti QX80

I currently own a 2017 Mercedes G63 and have been seriously thinking about replacing it in the near future for a few reasons, mostly related to $$$, but also related to some Mercedes issues. Both of my rear tail light assemblies developed cracks and replacements were ordered mid-September 2019...

Yeah, it looks fantastic in the photos, which were really well composed by the way (nice job @limbusgold), out in the desert where these beasts belong. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that color on my own vehicle that serves as my daily driver and occasional trip vehicle.

Yes, I love mine. Every time I think about what to get next, I come back to just keeping what I have. :)

How do you keep it so clean??? Mine usually looks dirty about 20 minutes after a car wash from the drive home on paved roads. I mean, it is black, but still. :D
