Thanks for the info! I have two ways of transporting my bikes in my 80 series; one is on the rack when I have the truck full or passengers (no pic right now) and the second is below, which is easier to put it in and out and also allows me to lock it up.

When I removed my factory rack I left two holes unwelded so that I could run the wiring for the new racks lights through them. Just used a fitting like what was posted and it worked great.

How stable is this for you? I contemplated doing this off the Con Ferr rack on my 80, but I didn't know how well the fork mount would hold it there.
