Create Georeference PDF files for Avenza's PDF Maps app

Curious, do many people still use Avenza? What's new on converting maps? Any sharing platforms appear in the last few years? This post helped me when it was originally posted, I have ArcGIS for work and use that. Been collecting updated resource maps for BC and the Yukon, a number are not...

    Cabover vs. Long-Nose Platform

I have had a gaggle over the years, once you're accustomed it is no problem. Far less of an issues with vehicles with a high seat height. I prefer it for my offroad vehicles, you know exactly where you right wheel in cases of passing on narrow tracks. It is not so good to be RHD in a low slung...

    Cabover vs. Long-Nose Platform

Wow, haven't seen that model. Only recently have been looking at the Dyna, told recently they ride nice and some of the engine options are fantastic. For Canadian market, 15 years old, I've seen some hybrid models available, and I am not certain that would be ideal for a backroad camper. I do...

    Cabover vs. Long-Nose Platform

Which side of the 49th parallel are you located? This 2006 is destined for the port of Vancouver, Canada. It's only recently become an option for a build I'd consider.

    Shiftpod; The obvious alternative

Plus; Durability. During a night of strong winds ocean side, noticed buddy climbing out of his RTT at 3am. His XL Shiftpod had blown 200 yards into the bushes. It was scuffed but otherwise completely undamaged. It had been erected with anchors, but with the heavy rain the ground had softened...

Is there a RTT that can handle extreme weather ?

Heard back, they are in Dawson city, and are both long time professional photographers not very active on social media; I didn't get any pictures out of em [emoji35]. Told it was horrible, as their wine bag froze in the truck. Sure they were just fine, I know in their house they have 1500 sq ft...

Is there a RTT that can handle extreme weather ?

Been out with others in hardshell RTTs twice in those conditions, once in North Vancouver Island winds were gusting to 70 mph, and broke a shelter tent, with all its pegs and 4 lines tie down, loose and blew it a couple hundred meters into the bush. Friends on the exposed point and their James...

Is there a RTT that can handle extreme weather ?

Certainly get more weather ability from a ground tent for less money. Many compact 4 season extreme weather tents cost the same as an entry level rtt

Is there a RTT that can handle extreme weather ?

What is extreme? A friend is up in Tombstone territorial park in their James Baroud right now. - 47c according in Dawson City this morning. It's the Space model similar to the one sitting in my carport right now. They do have a diesel heater ducted into their tent. Sure I'll find out how there...

    DIY Hard-Side Pop-Tops

Watched all episodes. [emoji106] Concern is, how would this type of construction hold up when much our travel is on broken and abandoned roads? Much of our travel is in the rain and occasionally salt water misting.

Composite camper - aluminum extrusion vs. FRP edges

Group buy? I'm done enough fiberglass/epoxy layups to not want to go that route.

Composite camper - aluminum extrusion vs. FRP edges

Another Canadian interested in learning what is available in Canada. Self building one myself would be great, currently options that interest us are priced such that we would have to sell land just to afford them! Would like to build on something small like such pictured

Drive to Arctic Circle in “high miles” 4th Gen 4Runner

Ha keep the 4Runner. There so much Alpine to explore in the Yukon that you need a high clearance 4x4. I've used the iOverland app, but wonderful spots are down what online shows as a snowmobile trail. All the spots pictured, from this July and August, I've visit previously in a 4Runner but for...
