lift block or shackle flip for lifting Toyota truck with camper?

Currently no blocks, they're definitely an option. Not a huge fan of blocks either but may be the best option. I'll see how much the expansion leaf pack AAL adds to height, if I still want a bit more I could even go with a 1" block which I assum would have pretty minimal effect on driveability.

lift block or shackle flip for lifting Toyota truck with camper?

Thanks for the feedback, to clarify, I'm looking for a lift in the rear to match the front lift. I'm not wanting a lift to compensate for load/squat. With a 3100kg GVWR and 1250kg payload rating the springs are not in danger of being overloaded yet, more looking for the most effective way to...

JDM Toyota Dyna 4x4 Build Thread

It has been a while since I have updated things. Work on the truck has been slow but steady. Just installed new heavy duty torsion bars on the front which allows me to crank the torsion bars for a little more lift and will help control the weight as well. Going to be replacing all of the...

lift block or shackle flip for lifting Toyota truck with camper?

Hi all, hoping for some feedback from those who may have tried or know about the effects of flipped shackles and how they handle the weight of a camper, especially when it comes to moderate/aggressive off-roading. The Toyota truck in question is an unusual beast, it's a JDM Toyota Dyna: The...

Alaskan Camper with beautiful low KM F250 truck

***SOLD*** Reluctantly selling our trusty family camping rig. Both the truck and camper were purchased brand new by my grandfather. Both are in excellent condition and meticulously maintained. The truck is a 1984 Ford F250 Super Cab with only 53,900 km on it. It has the 351 V8 5.8L engine and...

Camper Build for JDM 4x4 Toyota Dyna Truck

So turns out that you can’t test for a Torsen lsd differential by raising the wheels and turning them as there has to be power applied to the driveshaft in order for the lsd to engage. It will act like an open differential when just turning the wheels. Other than taking the differential apart...

Camper Build for JDM 4x4 Toyota Dyna Truck

Yeah, only thing I can think is the internals may be the same? From the forum posts, it sounds like the Supra differential is also an 8” LSD with a 5:1 ratio which I’d be pretty happy about! I have noticed that the truck drives very well when when not in 4WD but chalked it up to the weight on...

Camper Build for JDM 4x4 Toyota Dyna Truck

Yeah, I’m confused, the pictures I found of the Supra differentials look nothing like the truck. It’s definitely a solid rear axle and not Independent. Front is IFS Looked up the part diagrams and a LSD option is listed: Still don’t know how to tell which differential I have though, I guess I...

Camper Build for JDM 4x4 Toyota Dyna Truck

The wheelbase is 232cm and the track width with my current 3rd gen 4Runner wheels and 245/75R16 tires is 169cm Ok, so the Trans/Axle code is listed as: R351F B03B Does that mean anything to you? Edit: Did some googling, looks like an ASIN transmission and seems that the differential is...
