Uh huh, that's obvious enough to go unsaid. A point was made about safety, not legality. CPB could have easily used that as a reason as well. And then the circular arguement would be it's legal in Europe.... Who cares. CPB didn't like it, crushed it, and has a legal standing for doing so...

Exactly. All of those issues are fairly well known. Point was why bother arguing semantics? The truck was destroyed by a government agency for not being safe by the giovernment's own definition.

+2. Add to the fact that the US gov't is just enforcing it's own safety laws. If a car does not meet the rules and regs required to import a car, to the US gov't it's unsafe. It's not that difficult. Whether or not it is actually an "unsafe" vehicle is just semantics and a straw man arguement.

Did Limestone change? I know there was a UK home market Bronze Green and a NADA one, but never heard of limestone changing or various shades of it. Same BSC code is always used that I have seen as well.

That's my opinion of the motor. It was a specific factory effort to improve the 2.5TD. It was evolutionary from the old 2.5TD and NA motors regardless of the similarities due to factory production constraints. No need to clutter this thread arguing about it.

Not Sand for sure. Too light. COuld be Limestone, but hard to tell from the pics. Could also not be a factory color...

Yep. Club member back in the day brought one to a specialist and gave him a parts source. No issues.

Nope. 200tdi was a redesign. Turbo killed the 2.5 motor more or less. Changed and upgraded the block and pretty much everything else...

Oh I don't know. People rebuilding old trucks into modern defenders than importing. Kind gets attention.
