    TJ as road trip/overlander?

1998 187k miles, 4.0. clean title. Automatic 2Door 5,500 firm on price. seems like a solid deal? Almost too good for a 2dr. Opinions?

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

It’s a shame they don’t sell the new jimny in the U.S. probably not a lot of money to be made is a small 2Dr, but I’d sure love one. As for electric cars, I’d love one as a daily. However, even with all the super chargers, I can’t imagine a 20hr drive being too pleasant lol.

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

Would you guys consider this a good deal for an XJ? 170k, 4x4, 4.0 Auto. clean in and out, but salvage title from side impact.

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

Sweet rigs! I always forget about the ZJ and WJ having solid axles. So, that gives me 3 solid options lol. Were the ZJ and WJ also unibody? I know that tends to be an issue with XJs. Also, If I went with later model Cherokees, should I go for V8 or i6? which was more reliable?

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

Im starting to think an XJ would be a good balance between the capabilities of the TJ, with the comfort of the 4runner I want. I’m not exactly a huge XJ fan (looks like a box), but if a wrangler and 4runner had a kid, I suppose the XJ would be the perfect blend of the two.

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

Man, I just can’t wheel a manual. I feel like I’d need a crawl box to reduce the gears enough to make it drivable. I had a buddy that rock crawled a manual trans and all we would ever smell was burned clutch. Lol.

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

Nice Rubi! I was so sure I wanted a new wrangler and ended up canceling my order, even a non-Rubicon model will go for nearly 50k after taxes. But they have the comfort of a 4runner with the capability of a solid axle rig. Thats how I came up with wanting a TJ or 4Runner. one has a little more...

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

Haha, thanks everyone! I used to have a 2018 tacoma and had to sell it (some punk poured sugar in my fuel tank). Anyways, I didn’t feel like paying 50k+ on a new rig, so I’ve considered a TJ or 3rd Gen 4Runner. We do a lot of road trips with a lot of wheeling in Utah, colorado, Etc, and once a...

    TJ as road trip/overlander?

Anyone drive their TJ for 2k+ miles on the road? Is it really as bad as people say it is if I buy one with a hardtop and try to sound deaden it?

Longterm review of the 3rd Gen 4Runner

Good to hear! I had a new Tacoma and I felt like I was constantly fighting the dam sensors and computers. Been looking at these 4Runners as a replacement.

    Possible on a 2dr?

Tacos are great! but they're definitely no jeep when it comes to off-roading.

Anyone tried these new tires yet?

Sorry, I wasn't sure where to put this but tires are the first step to recovery! haha. Anyways, I came a cross these new tires. Its ******** Cepek trail country EXP. They're a hybrid tire and seem like a great option, but there aren't many reviews yet.. this is all I've found in terms of an off...

The Excuse: A 4400 Mile, 12 State Adventure

Wow! I had a blast reading through your trip report! I can’t wait to get out my self! I do have a question though! Not sure if I missed it but how was the restroom situation for you guys? I know in a few camping locations you had restrooms but was that for all or just a few? My wife refuses to...
